I would be OK with Belt/Norris.

Who is "Adams"?

Belt will be an All-Star in Houston. That entire field can fit in the infield at AT&T.

Braves won't be trading for Lopez, acquired Scot Downs.

Their package, nothing special. I'd rather hang onto the guy, you aren't going to get anything worth while, and for a team that is supposed to contend next year, just keep Lopez. Re-sign him at the end of the season.

I still think we could get more for Lopez

I would LIKE to resign JLo, but he is 35 and has stated that he would prefer to be near his home in Virginia.

He has mad nice $$ the last few years, and if he has not blown it, he should be set. He will get one more contract that should put the icing on his kids retirement funds, and he can do that anywhere (O's, Nats, Braves...).

Trouble is the Astros won't take Pence for Adams...

For the Astros to even be considering BB9 shows what his value is, despite the pantshatting going on here.

Edit: NORRIS, not Adams...don't know why those two names are in my head.

NORRIS, NORRIS, NORRIS.

I think Belt stays (we don't get Norris) and Pence is traded.

Kieschnick in RF, maybe Belt spends time in LF. Pill gets time at 1B and a power bat off the bench

I just saw that, but realized it was Jon Hayman who reported it and immediately assumed it was his usual faux pas. By most accounts of our beat writers, he love(s?/d?) it here but maybe things changed as the season has progressed. For his part, I don't/won't blame him one bit. He's won 2 rings in SF and 1 on Boston, made a lot of money and saw both the AL and NL, and the West coast and the East coast. He's had a nice career and I could see him wanting to bring it home for the final stretch.

Let's not forget Jason Schmidt. NEVER forget Jason Schmidt.

If the Dogies want to overpay to get Timmy, we should encourage that. I love me some Timmy, but if he ain't done now, he will be soon, at least as a starter.

Secret Agent Ned might be on board with this. Perhaps Timmeh could try his hardest, but, well, not do so well with the Dogs.

Things are heating up. I didn't think anyone on the MLB roster would be traded today, with the visit to the White House and all.

Still hoping for something to happen before the trade deadline.

And yeah, I'd like to see Bam Bam gone. As a symbolic gesture to the offensive sukkitude.

From MLB TradeRumors

7:10pm: The Pirates and Giants are both "serious suitors" for Wilson, who appears close to signing soon, according to Scott Miller of CBS Sports. Miller adds that the Diamondbacks and Dodgers have some level of interest as well, and he notes that Wilson "has an affinity for Los Angeles." The Phillies were also thought to have interest prior to the six-game skid that has pushed them firmly into their stance as sellers.

I don't know, I think our bridges have been burned with Bweezy.
