Thank god they didn't go after Turdo. If the Sharks were going to go the UFA route to get a goalie (which they obviously did) Niittymaki was the one to get. Better than Turdo, Ellis, Biron etc. Good/Great signing depending on the price.

Another defenseman means Bartulis moves back down to AHL, clearing .6 off the cap. Veteran defenseman on his last shouldn't make much more than that.

Manny Malhotra to Vancouver. I LIKE !!! Very solid all around player, makes the top 9 better. Decent cap it at 2.5m per year and he's always up in the Vancouver/Victoria area anyway, he's Steve Nash's brother in law

Very disappointing to see Malhotra go, but when you throw $2.5M at guys like Wallin, you're gonna take a hit somewhere else. I wish Manny the best of luck.
