1. Washington will NOT be resigning Eric Belanger as he wants a 3-4 year deal, perhaps Vancouver is the leader (Twitter / Craig Custance: Looks like Caps center Eri ...)

2. All of the sudden Olli Jokinen is on the Caps radar...

3. For the last time, Volchenkov is NOT in the Caps future plans (wink wink nudge nudge)

4. However, Willie Mitchell is (I am not a crook -- Kabanov)

5. Another name that I am hearing mentioned a lot (http://tapperass.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/vince-lombardi-trophy-for-super-bowl-xlii2.jpg) and God knows I am not talking about the Redskins.

6. Michalek is cooling off as a potential future Cap, but GMGM plays shit so close to the vest, who knows....this could all blow up.

7. Matt Cullen wanted to come to Washington at the trade deadline, so is he Semin's next center?

8. The future of goaltending for the Caps WILL BE a young Russian and a young Czech.

Heard that Burkie wants to get in on the Hamhuis sweepstakes. Kaberle also expects to be traded.

Yup, that centre is Jokinen. /ducks

lol...Good one, Dup. I really think Spezza will be traded, after paying Heatley $4 million only to see him traded to the Sharks, do the Sens really want to pay another $4 million to an unhappy Spezza?

Brind'amour to be bought out and hang 'em up to join the front office.
(he can't be waived sue to his no movement clause)

his full $3m will count against the Canes salary cap - ouch

That's a shame...that's 3 million less to sign the Wizard (who is 4 million less than Spezza).

Pierre LeBrun is tweeting that the Oilers and Coyotes have completed a deal (Patrick O' Sullivan to PHX for Jim Vandermeer). He is also reporting that both teams have bought these players out. A trade that creates cap space for both Edmonton and Phoenix. Different, but also kinda shrewd.

Current word out of Pittsburgh today regarding hamhuis and gonchar signing new contracts sounds grim. From a couple different sites that I've read, both players will test the FA market, tomorrow. If they get to that 12 o'clock hour, both players will not be wearing a Pens jersey next season. No way will Shero get them to come back after they hear the other offers that roll in. Someone will give Sarge his three year, 5 million per, and it sounds as if Hamhuis has his sites set on getting closer to British Columbia.

Oilers seem all about trading bad contracts for bad contracts.
well, the do have an ample supply to sluff off.
