Ah. Well, that's dumb of them.

There were pieces where it was at least postulated that NBC might pay the NHL some money for the players to go because it's an obvious boost to their ratings. Don't know if it was ever really serious talk but I'll take it as at least plausible that discussions were had.

this goes back to what i said last week ... if its not the final gold medal game, the network execs dont want it on the main network ... they cant commit 3 hours of LIVE broadcast time IN PRIME TIME to a hockey game when they have 30 minute segments on Apolo Anton Ohno that the public (mostly comeds) demands
