we already traded for Deebo. So what does that tell you?
It tells me they traded for Deebo. Seriously, that is a stupid question.
Deebo is 29. His stellar season was in 2021. In 2023, he had 1100 yards and 12 TDs. All SF sucked last season.
Kupp is 32. His stellar season was also 2021. Even last season, he had to be targeted 20 more times than Deebo to get 80 more yards than Deebo. He also brings nothing on the ground.
Davante Adams is also 32. His last big season was 2022. Davante has put up solid numbers the last two seasons but is on an obvious decline. i guarantee he doesn’t sign a one year deal like you advocate, anywhere.
3 years in the life of a WR is a long time. And Deebo doesn’t just come here as a WR…remember, I am not even a fan of Deebo but can see how this will work.
meaning they grabbed a vet WR. It’s not all about young guys.
I never said it was. I said you like big names who have done nothing of note in years.
You would have traded for Kupp and ate 15 million of his salary. You would sign Adams for 20 million.
no i said the Rams would have to pay a big amount of his contract. I'm about the talent. Yes Adams for 1 year 20M I would do. Puts our WR core over the top.
I think we need to leave free agency with at least 40m still available. Gives us room to absorb Garrett's salary if the Browns make a move at the deadline and still have about 20m available.
I literally said you would have to pay 15 million for Kupp and you were all for it. Again, you like them for what they were….not what they are.
I wouldn't overpay for Adams. The Skins just need to find a WR who can create separation from the draft. They need a shifty, good route runner.
The Skins resources for FA will be better spent on other position groups at this point.
I expect Deebo to be an impactful complimentary piece for the offense since he won't be the focus of opposing defenses; especially if the Skins draft the right WR.
It depends on the amount it would cost to pay him. A team will probably overpay for him based on their team needs. Is Adams the type of player who will be fine with less passes to him if that is what the team needs? I don't know.I just think if we get Adams it puts on WR core over the top. Even if we get injuries there is plenty of talent to compensate. We have a guy we took in the 3round last year Luke Mc that can be a 3rd or 4 Wr. I wouldnt pick a WR in the draft if Adams was acquired.

I am not sure that Luke Mc is the WR who can become more of long-term answer at the traditional WR2 position. I think that is what the team needs. Deebo is in his on category. He's not going to be asked to line up wide on the outside and run routes every play to get open.
Part of my apprehension with paying a lot to the WR group is from what I have seen with the Dolphins. They let their best Olinemen hit the free agency market to afford high priced WRs. That didn't work out so well.
Another factor to me is team need. I would like to see the Skins get more from their RBs. In the playoffs that becomes even more important.
Also the Skins' offense was by far the most productive in the division, even more then the Eagles last year. The problem was the defense. If the team needs to overpay a FA. I would rather it be a DT or DE.
