I know! It seems to me I've heard this before and as you've mentioned, the deadline is tomorrow.
The problem they face is being stuck with him, not in a bad way but because franchising him means two #1 draft picks, should any one sign him, and that's not going to happen. They could still trade him but it's gonna cost far less to get him since every team in the league also know that their cap situation, coupled with the failed rework of Burrow's contract, makes it far more difficult to sign Chase and/or Hendrickson.
One will likely be moved and both Chase and Hendrickson are essential.

Then you're really gonna hate this... I graded him out as a late first early second round pick. [Sorry about that]
Now to be fair I graded Cam out to be a mid-round first. (Picks 16 to 22)

Yep! The Bengals are crazy with this move. Without an out plan that involves trading Chase or Higgins, they will be pouring
$46.25M for Burrows
> $35M for Chase
$26M for Tee

$107.25M into three guys on an offense that couldn't overcome their defensive inadequacies. All of that without addressing Trey Hendrickson's demand for a new contract, likely in the $30M range.

SN: While both Chase and Hendrickson will be on 5th year options, neither will report for that status in 2025.

Dean throughout the years this has been said and believed . Our roster could be better but the competition is as well . Have to be aware of fools gold of last year . Now that doesn’t mean we won’t make some great moves and improve to superbowl contenders. But tap the breaks just a bit

I think we can take advantage of the time we have now of JD5 rookie deal. Take some risks.

It takes a mix of quality vets and young talent through the draft. Most of the veteran FAs the team added last year made a big impact.

Lattimore will get another chance this year to prove AP right.
