More Bartolo....

LOS ANGELES -- New York Mets right-hander Bartolo Colon's historic home run helped earn him earn a Major League Baseball honor on Monday.

Colon was named National League co-Player of the Week. He shares the honor with Chicago Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist.

Colon, 42, became the oldest player in major league history to hit his first major league homer when he took San Diego Padres right-hander James Shields deep on Saturday.

Colon also went 2-0 with a 1.84 ERA. The first of those wins broke a tie with Pedro Martinez for sole possession of second place in career victories among Dominican-born pitchers. Juan Marichal leads that list with 243 wins, followed by Colon now with 221 and Martinez with 219.

Lefties are hitting .367 against Alex Wood this season, but Terry Collins preferred to bat Michael Conforto sixth on Tuesday, where he did not "have a lot of heat" to produce against the southpaw. Collins noted that Asdrubal Cabrera and David Wright both are getting on base, so it makes sense to bat them second and third against Wood. "You've got to score," Collins said about Conforto. "I'd like to leave him in the three-hole if I thought he could do some damage." Conforto is expected to remain the No. 3 hitter vs. right-handed pitching.

Klay's brother Trayce Thompson hits a 2 out, 2 strike, PH walk off solo bomb off Robles in the bottom 9th.

Doyers win 3-2.

David Wright needs to sit until he gets his throwing arm back....+/ or move down in the lineup to find his hitting stroke once again.

LOS ANGELES -- Here are the lineups for Wednesday's 10:10 p.m. ET game between the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Neil Walker returns after missing three starts with a bruised right shin.

Rene Rivera, who threw out one of three base stealers in San Diego, catches Noah Syndergaard for a second straight start.

David Wright gets a scheduled day off.

Syndergaard pitches one day shy of the one-year anniversary of his major-league debut.

Syndergaard has thrown 269 pitches registering 97 mph or more this season, by far the most in the majors. Arquimedes Caminero ranks second with 165, followed by Nate Eovaldi with 162 and Craig Kimbrel with 146.

Beginning with the day of Syndergaard's debut, his 29 percent strikeout rate trails only Clayton Kershaw (34 percent) and Max Scherzer (30 percent) in the National League among qualified starters.

Ugghhhh

Big Bart didn't have it tonight.

Mets lose 5-0.

They K'd 13 times and could only muster 3 hits.

I'm afraid TC is gonna be thick headed with these lineups of his based on matchups again for the foreseeable future.

Sitting Duda & Conforto simply because there's a lefty on the mound is beyond silly....especially when the right handed batters aren't doing squat.

Gotta go against "the book" & "unwritten rules" once in a while, don't ya?

Wright just simply can't stay in the 3 hole. He needs to get moved down in the order.

Silver lining: Sean Gilmartin was solid in his 3 innings of work.

*Also: why wasn't Utley drilled in the back or on the leg in this game??
