I'd be okay with that...but I'm not sure what the players would think or how they'd react.

Don't want to blow shit up that could lead to a mutiny....especially since they've been in 1st place for the last 3 months until this last weekend....but the signs of a hard fall have been evident for weeks.
It's not only the injuries..those are part of it.....it's more the constant lack of production and subpar pitching from day to day and series to series. Bright red flags were flying high for all to see right after the AS break...then began to really kick in the alarms when August hit.

There are no easy answers....only a multitude of questions, and lots of concern right now.

While I agree I found it refreshing to hear some negativity towards these guys, I think some tough love is in order. Rojas is too player friendly. Tired of guys being complimented and hearing about how much work they're putting in after an embarrassing loss.

Last night's game has just been resumed...but it hasn't gotten much better.
Rich Hill gave up a run scoring double...to make it 4-1.

Like clockwork, Conforto whiffed to begin the bottom of the 2nd.

This will all work out swimmingly I'm sure of it.

And then we'll probably lose the nightcap too.

Rojas shrugs again.

Why didn't Rojas just use a bullpen guy to complete the top of the 2nd inning and save Hill for the later game?

Then he could've gone to a PHer to hit for the pitcher.
(Hill batted with 2 on and 2 outs but grounded out)

That kind of shit is where we are..and why we're there right now.

Well....Hill looked good after that 2nd inning....but now here in the 5th he's given up a leadoff walk...and a single...ughh
Nats have 1st & 3rd with no outs...and he's already over 70 pitches in only 3 innings today.
Then after that mound visit...he allows a 2 run double.

6-4 Nats....and now he's pulled.

I stopped watching after the 6th and took off to run some errands.

Looks like the Mets not only managed to get revived in the late innings...but they also rediscovered their backbone again.

Definitely a much needed win. Gotta find a way to string together a few more of those on the reg.
