FED hits it into the net. Monfils up a break, 2-1.

FED lost to Monfils in straight sets. FED was 1/2 slow, and had a hard time returning some of Monfil's serves too.

Starting the doubles match now.

Yes! Benneteau / Gasquet vs. FED/Wawrinka! Just the pair I wanted for the Swiss team.

These four players faced off once prior in 2011 at Indian Wells.

Wawrinka/FED won 12-10 in the 3rd set.

They would lose in the Finals.

Swiss team won the 1st set.

In the 2nd set, the Swiss team faced break points in almost every service game. But they never were broken.

They won the 2nd set, 7-5. It was a 58 min set. I don't think I've seen a longer doubles set before.

Swiss team won doubles in straight sets.

They did a great job at quickly attacking the middle, to which the French team would usually not hit fierce shots as back.

Wawrinka also had several nice running volleys.

It was a great match by the Swiss team, played very well.

Tsonga DNP due to wrist injury.

So it's Gasquet vs. FED.

All 4 members of the French team (Gasquet, Tsonga, Monfils, Benneteau) reside in Switzerland.

FED beat Gasquet in straight sets. But Gasquet played great. Fought off a lot of break points. Had a good forehand on one point.

Even an ace when he was in a dire situation.

This Davis Cup Finals win was 16 years in the making for Federer, and 11 years for Wawrinka. Wow.

They had tears.
