Yea... Didn't really occur to me how useful the rep gadget was. Now what?
I know summer's over, but never too early to think about backyard fun with your kids...
whats the sayin ... "if youre not cheatin youre not tryin" right?
judging from the Islanders and Flames post season experience these past 5 years ... both teams are definitely not cheatin
i'd like to make a motion to make the new 'rep'
because wtf we have a for?

I think both Calgary and Long Island just can't put the pieces together, with NYI just not really giving a fuck.
Maybe not on the ice, but all you have to do is look at the amount of money Wang actually spends on his hockey team compared with the cap hits to know he's been Cooking the Books for years.
i said cheat ... not cheap
A situation I'm not used to...
The NHL is within another lockout, and my favorite team, for the first time, has actual financial credibility
Usually when this shit would be going on it was always my team that was being considered for relocation or worse...

I realize what Wang has been doing is legal under the current NHL rules, but it's BULLSHIT in my book. The Isles two biggest acquisitions this offseason were Lubomir Visnovsky & Brad Boyes.
Visnovsky has a 5.6M cap hit while Wang only has to pay him 3M in actual salary. Boyes was the Islanders #1 target on July 1st. That's right, he was the first STINKING player they called about signing. Doug Weight actually had to convince him to sign with the Islanders.
We're not talking about a player that can actually help the Islanders win games here. We're talking about Brad Boyes who scored 8 goals & 15 assists for the Buffalo Sabres last year while making 4M bucks. The Isles gave him a 1 year 1M deal.
Name 1 other team in the entire league who would be interested in signing Brad Boyes going into this offseason?
Calgary signed Dennis Wideman, Jiri Hudler & Roman Cervenka. There's a huge difference in the two teams.
the bandwagon is strong this time around

In reality, it is the ownership that is strong. It is a nice position to be in, and one that the Penguins have rarely ever enjoyed. You can poke fun about bandwagon fans all you want, that is a universal symptom in all professional sports.
It's the ownership that makes the greatest difference.
