NFL Sunday Ticket coming to iOS, Mac for 2014 season with no satellite subscription needed

No official announcement has been made, but a promotional page for the new offering has appeared at NFLSundayTicket.tv. The company says viewing will be limited to out-of-market games when it begins on Sept. 7, but the popular Red Zone channel is included. AppleInsider was first tipped to the page by reader Sean.

"Now you can access live, out-of-market NFL games without a DIRECTV satellite TV account—no matter what team you follow," the site reads. "NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV lets you stream games on your computer, tablet, phone, or game console. All while keeping up with real-time player stats and your fantasy teams."

A $199.99 subscription will grant access via Sunday Ticket apps on mobile devices and personal computers, while access on gaming consoles will require a $239.99 subscription. The most expensive tier, at $329.99, combines the two and adds access to Red Zone and the new Fantasy Zone channel.

Will have to figure out if this is worth it to me, but as a cord cutter I'm excited to see this. Perhaps it will force other sports/programs to follow.

I don't understand why the NFL doesn't make it's program available across all platforms. I would gladly pay for access via my laptop/tablet/phone/cable box on demand.

All this means to me is that there will now be more higher quality streams available on the internet.

I've had the Tkt the last 3 years after giving it up for 2 years...the way DTV was dangling the tkt as an incentive I've only had to pay for it every other year....this will be a "pay" year if I'm to keep it, and to be honest I'm undecided...PIT has 4+ national games every yr, plus CBS seems to send PIT games to ATL I end up paying for about 8 games that I wouldn't get on a normal cable...not terrible but about $25 per game.

I'm there with you, living in the Northwest I get screwed with my Eagles cause of blackouts for the Seahawks,
It's a monopoly the Direct TV has with the live games...

I got it last year with that Madden bundle deal. I enjoyed it. Not only could I see the broncos but many of the other better games. I would pay a small subscription fee to get this but $200 to $240 is way too much. maybe $100 but beyond that I could easily find other ways to see the game.

I love the Sunday Ticket and wouldn't be without it. You get to watch the best games no matter what, plus you get Redzone for free. If you don't know what Redzone is it's a channel that automatically switches to whatever game is going on where some team is in scoring position. Redzone is the crack cocaine of NFL football channels.

This would be bigger news if it was available everywhere. This is a very limited demographic that I understand why they are doing it but if they are going to charge pretty much what they would for the tv subscription then why not make it available to everybody?

I plan on giving NFL Game Pass a try since it's easy enough to trick the site into thinking you're outside the US and it's only $99 for just a team pass or $130 for every regular season game.

$200 is nothing IMO. I'm in and there are only like 4 or 5 Cowboy games a year I don't get. Great for Fantasy Football too...

Is Direct tv publicly owned??? Seems like a cash cow for them even if some current subscribers now switch to cable/FIOS...

One of the restrictions is if you live in a place that you can get DTV you don't qualify. I'm out of this offer.

jarntt have to remember this is only in certain areas that before did not have DirectTV available to them. I would check to see if you fall into that category before getting too excited about this.

Supreme mentioned that. I was going to look into it closer to the season. They might close up that loophole by then.

Direct TV was just purchased by At&T. But the crown jewel in that deal for AT&T was the NFL Sunday ticket. The odd thing is the NFL has yet to renew the contract with Direct TV for Sunday Ticket.

I am almost sure the that AT&T can kill the deal if the NFL does not renew with Direct TV.

Let me clarify this: If you live in a condo ,apartment that won't let you put up a dish you can get this offer. I own my house so I can't get this offer and probably wouldn't if I could because I really don't feel like paying that much for seeing games on my PC, etc.

I get ST through my Shaw Cable systems provider. $130?? Cdn or there abouts?

I have no interest in getting it any other way. No fuss no muss. I have 4 large TVs I can watch it on without needing any of them to be "smrt" (like Homer J Simpson) and I'll be fucked if I'd ever consider watching it anywhere other than on a large screen.

So i have to deny my tenant Direct TV, have him order NFL Sunday ticket, and then borrow his computer?

The years of the Craptastic Seahawks are why I got it in the first place. They wouldn't sell out and you'd be stuck watching David Krieg fumble the ball instead of the big SF-Dallas game (or similar) that was blacked out.

I pick the best games and plop them in my "Favourites" section of my PVR remote control. Jump between them as play dictates. And even better, as long as the Spousal Unit is not watching anything upstairs, the PVR buffers (all 6 of them) will allow me to go back in time to see something I may have missed live...
