BTW, if we want Juan Thornhill, we may have to use one of our 2nd round picks to get him. He is a playmaker, and we need to find a replacement for McLeod and groom him to replace Malcolm in a couple of years. The ideal draft is: DE, DT, and Thornhill with our first 3 picks.

Really good possession type, big receiver ... can make the contested and highlight catches, but gets next to no separation. Ironically he's similar to Alshon.

A lot of Anquan Boldin comparisons with Harry floating around.
Might have a chip on his shoulder if not draft as #1 wide out and that can fuel his fire just a little more

Sounds like AJ Brown might be the pick. I'd rather get him then Jacobs.

Yeah. I'm huge on AJ Brown in the 2nd round. I want either best OL or DL at 25. If neither position is on board Eagles top target list, trade out the 1st round and load up picks for later imo. BTw, I still think Howie is still looking at Duke in a trade.

I still think we somehow end up with Duke Johnson before it's all said and done. Howie is very patient as we found out with Jordan Howard. When the price is right I think we will pounce, but it may not be till draft day. I think we end up trading back for a 3rd and it will be easier to give up one of our 4th's for Duke at that point.

As far as AJ Brown ... I think he goes in Rd 1. At worst I think he goes very early Rd 2. Maybe if we trade back into the early 2nd he would be an option should he still be there.

As usual, you're the voice of reason.

All in all, the guy I would still hope for in the first, is Wilkins. Unless of course, we trade up for Devin White!

I wouldn't give a fourth for johnson.

I don't think Howie would either at this moment in time ... that's why he's not an Eagle at this point. However, if we can trade back and recoup a 3rd rounder, it makes it easier to part with that compensatory 4th. Duke is a plug and play immediate starter as the 3rd down Back and more. Draft picks are ultimately crap shoots ... especially when you're talking outside the first 2 rounds. With Duke you know what you are getting, that 4th rounder could just as easily end up the next Donnel Pumphrey.

Yeah but you still have :

Clement
Adams
and Sproles who really hasn't come out and said he's done.

Plus Ajayi is still on the market.

I love Duke and what he brings, but at the end of the day you have to sit back and think long and hard, you have three backs under contract, adding Sproles or Ajayi would be on the cheap, plus that draft pick could help rebuild the oline or the dline down the road or find you that missing LB since Trotter was in town...

I hope that I'm wrong, but I don't think Adams is going to be very good. He is slow, and doesn't have a burst.

Right now, it looks like Howard, Clement, 2 draft picks, and either Smallwood, Scott, Sproles, Duke, or Adams will make up the stable of RBs this year. Wild card could be Ajayi.

I don't have much faith in any of our Backs aside from Howard. We were 28th in the league in rushing yards last season and 30th in yards per carry despite a good run blocking OL. I think Duke would thrive in our scheme and he's locked up for relatively low money for the next 3 seasons should we get him in trade (1.8 mil in 2019, 3.6 in 2020 and 4.6 in 2021). You also would save having to use an early pick at RB which you can use else where. I'm not a fan of bringing back Sproles, he was an excellent player at one time, but it's time to move on. Also not high on bringing back Ajayi ... dude's damaged goods and can't be counted on to stay healthy. Duke and Howard are both 25 and in their primes ... this team is ready to compete for another Championship now; let's get guys who can step right in off the jump.
