The number one factor that hurts the Flyers.....craig berube!

good thing he played for Holmgren because he wouldnt be coaching elsewhere

Yupp, switching up your style, to pretty much injure one player, wasn't smart. I'll give it to Hartnell for trying and it lead to a typical goal against us, deflection, but after that first period, that game was ours. Just pure dominance.

I'm not surprised one bit by Berube changing their style to injure somebody. We're talking about a guy who was a goon during his playing career. Don't forget the rivalry factor. I expect Lundqvist to be at his very best in this series. I'm sure he remembers that shootout loss that cost his team a playoff spot quite well.

Of course he remembers it, we all remember it, wont ever forget it. Jokinen :L

He will be fine, he finally comes into the playoffs with a very good offense and not a team that wants to grind for 60 minutes after scoring 1 goal. But honestly, he wasn't even tested last night at all, but he made like 2 or 3 saves that were big ones to keep the game close.

Philly has to much talent to play the way they did last night. I expect a different Flyers team in game 2. 15 shots isn't going to get it done. The Rangers have a good defense, but not that good.

If it worked, why did that top line have a total of what, 3 shots on goal? With the almighty Giroux with a whopping 0?

They had 1 shot on goal in the 3rd, it was pathetic, i'm not too worried about the Flyers ''Stepping it up'' let them continue to play the dump and chase, it lead to 1 goal that was a deflected goal from MSL. They never even tested Hank.

Everybody worries about Girardi and McDonagh and seem to forget about Staal and Klein, who also shut down each line they faced. Staal played one of his best games of the season, last night, Staal is back, that eye injury is no longer a factor at all. Hell, even Johnny Moore played well, him and Klein were getting in deep, joining rushes, Moore actually saved a wrap around goal from going in.

We got our first shot in the third before you did, actually, about 6 minutes in, when BOTH teams were making it hell to get shots. After that is where Akeson took his penalty and it certainly snowballed from there.

I'd also like to point out that if Staal played one of his best games of the season, why are you assuming he can repeat that performance for the next three to six games? He certainly might, but he might regress to his average, as I'm sure the Giroux line will.

I wouldn't go out there and assume the Rangers are a lock to win this just yet, Johnny. It's best of seven for a reason.

Staal has been great since coming back from his injury, he's back to his old self, i'm not worried about him regressing at all. He'll be just fine, before Mac blew up, he was our best defensemen and a fan favorite, now it's like he lurks in the shadows and nobody appreciates him, but him being my favorite Ranger since he was drafted, I pay close attention to him more than anybody else. He'll be fine.

It might not be over, but if we control the game like we did last night, it's going to be tough to beat us.

The defense is pretty good, people still don't realize and give McDonagh the credit he deserves, it's absolutely disgusting..
