I mean, on the bright side, we hung with them for almost 50 minutes with our backup goalie.

On the down side, Akeson took a TERRIBLE double minor that ended up costing us the game.

Good game, blue shirts. Next one won't be so easy.

They have been gooning it all game im glad we kept our composure

And that's the difference here, their easily rattled and it showed tonight and that's why we're on the verge of a 4-1 victory and their not.

If they keep acting like that its going to be a short series

Flyers went away from what made them successful in the first period, all the talk of putting the pucks past the d-men and being physical against them went away completely after the first period - and that's on Craig Berube, he didn't stay on them enough

I was not impressed at all with Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek - they combined for zero shots on goal - Claude Giroux has to step up because he's going to go against McDonagh and Girardi most times, so he needs to step up and start getting it done - there's no reason why he shouldn't

Actually a bit embarrassed with their game tonight, they melted down and started taking dumb penalties

How the FUCK do you get outshot 36-15 when the goal is the dump the puck in deep, get physical and have puck possession? Jesus fucking christ this is bad

At this pace, they'd be lucky to play 5 games.

And so much for "if they play physical, they'll dominate us" out hit us by a whopping 5 hits. So much for us being a small, push arouns team. Man, such a shit goal they had, should have been shutout.

Idc though, i'll take this dominant win. Carry the momentum into Sunday!

That third goal doesn't happen if not for that beautiful move by Mac at the point. Man, he looked bad for most of the game, but that move washes it all out. Helluva cross-ice pass from Richie to Stepan for the goal.

MacTruck is nowhere near 100%. But he's a fucking warrior and keaves it all on the ice. He will adjust and he'll be better in game 2. Outside of the hit he took from Hartnell, which then lead to the goal, there plan to pin Mac on the boards, was a huge fail. They got away from their game and we exploited it. Now if this was a Torts coached team, that's a game we lose 2-1, seen it time snd time again.

They just kept pressing, consistent pressure in the offensive zone. Heavy forecheck from all 4 lines, once again, being able to do so. All lines contributed. 4th line may not show up on the stat sheet, but they looked awesoms. They tried to get Dorsett early, but he wouldn'y break. Earlier in the year, he retaliates and matches the penalty. This team finally has AV's system down pat and it is amazing.

Can't wait for game 2.

The Flyers are not done here yet. There's a lot more left in the tank than that pathetic effort.

The number one factor that hurts the Flyers.....craig berube!

There better be. 15 shots on goal is like you said, PATHETIC.

The Flyers have played like shit in front of Emery all season long, so this was really not surprising. Upon the return of Mase on sunday, this is going to be a completely new team and series.

What pisses me off is people who think going after McDonagh doesn't work, because IT DID work and I know it for a fact because it led to the one Flyers goal - the problem is that the Flyers stopped doing that afterwards and that's what put them in a bad position - you have to be committed to doing that for 60 or more minutes, not just one period or one play

If the Flyers get Steve Mason back for game 2, they WILL be more aggressive - proof is in the pudding and it's not a difficult concept to understand - there's a reason he's the number one, he's better, more talented and he allows them to play more aggressive because they're a much better team when they play aggressive and the team is smart and knows they can get away with a mistake or two and he'll bail them out - number one goalies do that - and it's an early afternoon game so the Flyers won't have to think all day going into the game about what they're going to do, sometimes, going straight to the rink in the morning for a game is the best thing, getting the legs going early on can be good and who knows, the crowd might not be as loud or into it because it's an early game

If it worked, why did that top line have a total of what, 3 shots on goal? With the almighty Giroux with a whopping 0?

They had 1 shot on goal in the 3rd, it was pathetic, i'm not too worried about the Flyers ''Stepping it up'' let them continue to play the dump and chase, it lead to 1 goal that was a deflected goal from MSL. They never even tested Hank.

Everybody worries about Girardi and McDonagh and seem to forget about Staal and Klein, who also shut down each line they faced. Staal played one of his best games of the season, last night, Staal is back, that eye injury is no longer a factor at all. Hell, even Johnny Moore played well, him and Klein were getting in deep, joining rushes, Moore actually saved a wrap around goal from going in.
