Why is it so hard for you to think that Bob Kraft is incapable of telling BB what to do?

I worked with and for business owners and I owned my own business before I retired. I've never met a business owner who has underlings telling them how they will run the operation. Especially when the operations are not going well. Not even my wife was allowed to make a suggestion as to how I did things.

Kraft appears to everyone to be a meek, well mannered, understanding man. Exactly the personification that he wishes everyone to see and think. That's exactly why he tiptoed amongst the tulips when he got caught at the rub and scrub in Florida. The first question was "Why would a billionaire go to a cheap place like that?" Answer is that it isn't cheap and he can get things cleaned there that he can't get done at the local laundromat."
Kraft is a slick ruthless prick when it comes to business and his image. Ask the leagal he had working for him cleaning up the soiled laundry in Florida. You think he bought all that property at Patriots Place with a handshake, a smile and simple transfer of cash? My guess is that there a bunch of egos and assholes buried in those fancy store foundations. Who got their lights dimmed when Kraft decided that he wanted a Casino next door? Kraft is not a Native American. How did he get the license? All of the other Casinos in NE are owned by Native Americans.

Belichick is an employee. A great, successful employee. But Kraft is the boss and like any boss, will do whatever "he" thinks is best for "his" business. If BB doesn't agree, BB will no longer an employee. That's the way business works.

And top level employees do not stay top level employees without understanding the business themselves.
The top level employees have a plan and they have a backup plan.
Riding the coattails of another lower employee I will hypothesize would not work in this situation and Kraft would have seen through that years ago.
So, therefore it is safe to guess that Kraft went to Bills office and asked, "what's your plan?" while already having his own.
If Bill didn't have a plan or one that jived with Bob's to a certain extent that's one thing, but it is entirely feasible that Bill has laid out an elaborate off season plan that Bob the owner and Bob the fan are both happy with and are going to continue to let Bill execute.

Excellent points. No argument, except that I, BK, do not believe that Kraft sat down and asked Bill for a detailed plan for 2023. Way too early.

I, BK, believe that Kraft and Bill sat down and Kraft said that 2022 was a shitstorm of biblical proportions. He then said, "We have to fix this mess and we can't wait until spring. We have to start now. What do you think the biggest problem was Bill?" He doesn't say that Bill has a problem or caused the problem. Bill knows. He also knows that he has to give Kraft a truthful answer and said, "Matt has to go." Kraft says "Yes, I agree." Bill gives him a few more bones and Kraft may have agreed or not and the Kraft told Bill what he thought.

End result is that Kraft got what he wanted, not 100% but more than enough. The two pieces that we'll never for sure if Kraft demanded Coordinators or not. Bill will remain as GM/HC. Changes that will come were agreed upon by both, but not without some pain. Once Bill has something concrete, they will sit again. Moist likely, we'll never know when.

Albert Breer (SI) says that the Patriots have done their homework on Kliff Kindsbury and if he's available and wants to coach might pursue him.
He has a guaranteed contract through 2027 so he might not be able to take a Coordinator's position. If he did come to NE, he very well might be able to bring DeAndre Hopkins with him at a discount.

Have no idea if he's talking fact or fantasy.

Rumor is that BB contacted the Atlanta Falcons about a possible trade for Calvin Ridley. Ridley, as you all know, left the Falcons in October 2022 to take care of himself. He admittedly said that he was having mental issues and needed time away from the game.

The Falcons staff, apparently, can't keep secrets and shortly after BB inquired, the Cleveland Browns inquired about the possibility of trading for Ridley.

Several questions. Does Ridley want to play football again?. If he did have some mental breakdown, is he ready to play professional football? Now that the world knows about the Patriots and Browns inquiring, did the price just go through the roof?

Because great bosses let great employees do their jobs. They can certainly advise as I'm sure Bob does but you also need to let your top employees win or ultimately hang themselves.

My opinion is if Bob had to keep telling Bill what to do then he'd simply replace him.

While smart and capable, he pays Belichick to make football decisions - and holds him accountable privately!

After a reported meeting between Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, the overwhelming belief is that changes are coming and that "several offensive coaches are under consideration for the Patriots' 2023 staff." This shouldn't come as much of a surprise after the Patriots rolled out one of the worst offensive units in the league last season ranking 17th in points per game (21.4) and 26th in yards per game (314.6). Everyone saw this coming from a mile away, as the Patriots failed to name an offensive coordinator heading into training camp, with Matt Patricia and Joe Judge ultimately left to fight for a role that no other team in the league would likely hire them for. While Patricia was never officially named as the offensive coordinator, it was no secret that most of the team's offensive decisions went primarily through him. After an unacceptable 2022, the Patriots will likely go through several names in hopes of finding a coordinator to right the ship heading into next season.
