Ridley should never be allowed to play in the NFL again. Active players shouldn't be betting on games.
agree there should be some punishment, but this wasn't some huge bet with a bookie. Large parlays on Fanduel, right?

Funny stats. Carr is 57-70 (.449) as a starter. Mayfield has a better winning percentage (.492).

More funny stats. Mayfield through 4 seasons is 29-30. Carr was 28-34. And Mayfield's won a playoff game. Carr hasn't.

BOOM!
This also does not give Baker credit for the win in his first game against the Jets where he entered down 14-0.

I'd probably say Seattle's looking to tank this year for their next QB in the draft. Not sure what the 2023 class will look like, but that looks to be their approach.
tank with a 70-year-old coach who I think has a lot to do with roster moves. Trojan?

Don't really remember where Ridley made his bet.

Yes and no.

Totally depends on what version of Russ they get.

If it is the version that we saw at the start of last season, then he could be just what is needed to jump start the offense and make them a legit contender.

If he is declining quickly as I believe Seattle suspects, then this is going to go down as a big win for Seattle in jump starting their rebuild.

Time will tell.

For now, Denver did what they needed to do. They have all the other pieces to win now. Just have to see if it works.
Like a lot of deals like this (NBA, too)...win a title and Denver wins their portion. But if they don't......?

agree worth the risk.

I really dislike giving Mayfield credit at this point of his career. He's more mouth than production. But I'll admit what he said about the fans last season still doesn't sit well with me or how his wife went to social media saying things. So those two things factor in greatly as far as what I think of him right now.

wife needs to stay in her lane but telling fans to shut the hell up when we have the ball is OK by me.

And which 3 games are you winning?

Not that simple.

The defense last year was extremely disappointing. Heinicke balled out a couple games and got wins that Wentz would not have.

Also, Wentz’ stats are bolstered by the best run game in the NFL. That does not exist in Washington.
Have to assume something going on with Wentz other than on field. I mean, he did have a solid season last year and they gave up a lot to get him.

Saying anything there about what that could be?

PTI had a segment on Ridley yesterday, just got done watching the episode. They basically said that as an active player, on a team roster, he shouldn't be gambling on NFL games.
no doubt....but a year seems harsh.

If the league makes it perfectly clear to all players when they enter the league that's it's a no-no to gamble on games while on a roster (active or inactive) then he should be in alotta trouble. But I don't know what league rules are regarding that.

Could very well be.

I also just think NFL execs have gotten a lot better at evaluating QB and not just relying on the stats.

Wentz’ stats look really good. But I think conservative run based play calling has a lot to do with that.

Seems a bit like Trubisky from a few years ago to me. Stat line looks good, but when you watch and evaluate his play that got him there, you come away very underwhelmed.

The price Washington paid is not a starting QB price. So I think the market agrees.

Plus let's see how long he can stay healthy...
