Slam Wentz all you want but Washington went 7-10 this past season with Heinicke and his 20 TD's to 15 INT's.

If they had Wentz and his 27-7 TD to INT they would have probably won 10 games.

And which 3 games are you winning?

Not that simple.

The defense last year was extremely disappointing. Heinicke balled out a couple games and got wins that Wentz would not have.

Also, Wentz’ stats are bolstered by the best run game in the NFL. That does not exist in Washington.

Wentz also had arguably the best OL with the Colts.

Yeah but I do feel like they underachieved and let me be clear, might be one of the best run blocking team but I think I saw they were ranked 30th in pass blocking. That is shocking, if true.

Either way, Wentz isn't moving the needle much but that defense can definitely turn it around which should help the team.

They were 6-6 and then went 1-4 vs the NFC Least.

Gibson isn't Taylor, but he isn't a bad RB at all. And he has McLaurin at WR. I'm sure Washington will be looking to upgrade their #2 receiver.

Washington has a better pass blocking OL than Indy. At least it rated out that way.

And Washington had one of the worst defenses in the NFL while Indy was somewhere around a top 12-13.

The fact is they almost made the playoffs with Heinecke, if that is their goal, fine but this is far from a big improvement. It doesn't move the needle much and does nothing for their future. It's a debate on whether they win a couple more games at best or they could very well come out with the same record or worse bc of injury concerns.

If you don't think 27 TD's to just 7 INT's isn't better than 20 and 15 I don't know what to tell you.....But you also probably think Mayfield is a franchise QB.

LOL.

Plus, Washington had a bunch of injuries to their defense so there's that.

He was on the roster, but he had been home dealing with mental issues for weeks at the time he made them.

Still a dumb mistake, not saying it wasn’t,

But it shouldn’t be treated the same as an active player plugged into team meetings betting on a game IMO.

PTI had a segment on Ridley yesterday, just got done watching the episode. They basically said that as an active player, on a team roster, he shouldn't be gambling on NFL games.

Just saw a tweet.

Acquiring Watson is at the top of Carolina's plans this offseason.

Wentz isn’t that good though.

2 of those losses were extreme blowouts to Dallas that Wentz wasn’t turning around.

1 was a COVID game where they had to start a guy off the street because the entire QB room was on COVID reserve. That would have happened to Wentz too.

That is 0-3 in those NFC Least games right there with or without Wentz.

So you are left with 1 Philly game and 1 Giants game which they already won 1 of those.

And like I said, Wentz doesn’t beat TB, and there were a couple other games where Heinicke played extremely well and led the team to unexpected wins.

So I say 8-8 at best with Wentz, but it could legitimately have been the same or worse.

They can't allow any betting by NFL employees on NFL games whatsoever. He had to be aware of that. Automatic suspension, and he's lucky if it doesn't become longer.

The team underachieved because Wentz would wilt late and lose key games. The idea that the Colts and Reich want him gone should be enough for Washington fans to be skeptical at least.

It should be worded stronger than that. He CAN'T be gambling on NFL games. It puts the integrity of the games into question. Small offense by Ridley, but the NFL has to make sure that nobody else follows suit.

I would think that the league has it worded like that but not sure. Don't think either of them were quoting league rules when they were talking about Ridley in the segment.
