W/L are not a QB stat. Namath, Jurgensen both had losing records. Fouts, Moon, and Blanda were barely .500.

I'm sure Stafford has several years left with the Rams to get over .500. That won't likely be the stat to hold him back IMO. More playoff success should cancel that out.

Did any of those QB's play in a pass-happy league where the rules favor the offense? All of those QB's played in a much different era.

And if W/L isn't a QB stat then 2x S.B. champ Jim Plunkett, who was 72-72, should be a HOFer right?

But I gotta say I've never seen someone say that a QB's W/L record isn't a legit way to judge a career. That to me is a stunner.

Like I already said with the weapons the Rams have right now I see no reason that by the time Stafford's done his record should be right at or above .500.

Yes.

You're thinking I am just hating on the Browns when that isn't the case. I loved Bernie Kosar when he was with the Browns.

What are you talking about? I mentioned them because they haven't been good since their return in '99. This has nothing to do with the shots you've taken at them. I should have said the Jets instead.

With Stafford's career? I would. You can't just ignore the organization that a player plays for. Especially in football where the player can really only effect one side of the field.

A QB can throw for 300+ yards, 4 touchdowns, lead the team to 31 points and still get stuck with the loss because the defense gave up 38 points.

Don't know how many more times I can say where Stafford is right now I don't see him as a HOFer. But that can easily change in the next couple of years.

Since you think a QB's W/L record isn't a QB stat how do you judge QB's, by height? :heh:

Yes, Plunkett should be HOFer.

Why is W/L solely a QB stat in terms of HOF? A losing record doesn't hold back LTs, RBs, WRs, etc. At least 22 players (plus special teams) have an impact on each win/loss, plus whomever is coaching and calling plays.

Matt Ryan has more wins that Unitas and Montana, is he a HOFer? Alex Smith has more than Aikman.

What a great day for Rams WR Van Jefferson. Wins the S.B. then went to the hospital for his sons birth.

He's not on the ballot right now. That's like saying Kupp couldn't be SB MVP at halftime last night. More success is reasonably expected.

Odell also has a child due any time now. That was one of the nice things to see in the aftermath of the game last night, so many Rams players out there with their young kids and wives, playing with the confetti. S Taylor Rapp proposed after the game during the postgame coverage.

Exactly.

22 starters on O and D that contribute to winning or losing.

Mat Ryan has started 222 career games. Montana started 164 games. So Ryan has started 58 more games. That's nearly 4 extra seasons.

Johnny U started 158 games. That's 64 less (4 full seasons) than Ryan.

As far as Aikman. Don't get me started on him. Think he's kinda overrated and doesn't have that good of a TD/int. ratio (165 to 141)

Feel kinda bad for OBJ. That injury happened with no contact. Hope he can make a fully recovery.

As far as your Rams. Congrats on a helluva win. That was a damn good game.

Been following Von Miller's career since he was a rookie. Glad he got another ring.

Actually Eli is exactly at .500 (117-117).

Name one QB in the HOF in the that's in there with a sub .500 record. The only one I can think of is Broadway Joe (62-63-4).
I think there’s one other QB maybe. Having said that, the narrative shifted with Stafford once he won a SB in year 1 with a new org. The Lions have arguably the worst history in the NFL.

OK. Jim McMahon has a better win percentage than Aaron Rodgers. Joe Theismann? McNabb? Cunningham? All have better win percentages than Drew Brees.
