I would assume they're covering their bases in terms of this heads to court. In a hypothetical case - if Arians releases AB after this event, then yes, Arians would be in a world of shit for releasing a player that was knowingly hurt and couldn't play; the NFLPA would be all over this.

I'd assume that the Bucs are preventing AB from being released until they have their ducks in a row. And, I think they want to prevent AB from going to a playoff team as well.

You're also not going to usually get a response from an organization that isn't typical lip service (ie - We're still investigating on our end).

AB has a penchant for releasing private conversations and details (ie his phone conversation with Gruden). So I'm sure the Bucs saw this coming.

Of course.

Very predictable.

In this case though, I don’t blame him 1 bit for putting this out there, unless of course it is fabricated.

It isn’t a smart move for AB, but I don’t think he really cares. He just wants his truth out there to possibly clear his name.

Really hope they can find a video of the interaction between AB and Arians that precipitated all this. Would go a long way toward proving or discrediting AB’s claims.

the portal favors the players obviously but it also favors the big programs. The same day Williams went on the portal Dillon Gabriel out of UCF transferred to OU. Already has 70 tds and has 3 years of eligibility left.

The midseason portal is really a bad idea IMO. Kids should have to finish out the season at least.

Conferences are going to have to set their own rules, the NCAA is toast

Dick Van Dyke, or whatever his name is would lose his spot no doubt.

The mess they opened up allowing outside money just because the schools wouldn't pay them directly.
The schools can’t pay them directly

The NCAA changed the rule to what it is now, could change it for that. They just wanted the boosters to ante up instead of the schools themselves.

Instead of the pop up NFL alternate leagues (like the USFL in a few months), someone should start a college alternate minor league for the NFL.

It has to do with how the universities tax status is set up I believe

That's likely tied up in amateur status that they're trying to preserve. However, these kids are getting paid now, so that's a pretty murky qualification.
