Yeah I saw that but it is only week 2 so if they continue to call nonsense like they did in week 2 then I think they will make some adjustments. Last season they had 9 taunting penalties. Right now they're at 11 and on pace for about 100. Need to understand people don't watch games for the refs
do they watch it to see players taunt other players?

Didn't ask if they cared, asked if fans watch to see players taunt each other.

Taunting doesn't bother fans especially not the minor stuff they're calling now. The major ones were usually already called. In contact/collision sports then talking will happen. This isn't baseball.

It happens in basketball and hockey as well

This was an unnecessary enforcement of a rule

You got all this started today. Not my problem you're cranky. It's a nice day, listening to some Motown on vinyl and have a brisket in my smoker. You're trollish goofy game isn't working on me. You've singled me out in two threads this morning. So if you choose to continue to make a clown outta yourself by all means keep on keepin' on, it's funny.

Did you skip your Midol today? Poking a little fun at someone poking a little fun at the Lakers, nothing more. Get over yourself already, lol.

Had a lot of high picks since the return but did it really get us anywhere before last season?

Didn't say it did, and it takes time for those picks to develop as well. Just another factor, not a dig at Baker...

You inserted your pad in the wrong hole again didn't you? There's no question you have a mental problem. Following me around in two different threads. Go get the help you so badly need.

I'm guessing the step-up in enforcement has more to do with TV sponsors and player safety than fan involvement. Fans would rather see guys still get knocked unconscious from helmet to helmet contact and would see things completely differently if done by their team vs against their team, not exactly the best group to use as legislators.

I disagree.

Taunting leads to fighting.

While many fans tend to like all that stuff, it isn’t good for the sport to allow it.

Do we have any examples of this in the last 3 years? I cant even recall the last fight in the nfl and when fights happens it is usually due to a late hit out of bounds or on a qb....not because of taunting

as I think you alluded when you first mentioned it, many of the high picks just were not very good. That was the problem.

I mean.

Whether it does in the NFL or not, it sure does in life.

If somebody get in your face telling you how much you suck after they beat you on a play, human instinct isn’t to walk back to the huddle.

Besides, it is a lot easier to teach kids about good sporting behavior when they see their role models displaying it. Taunting sets a pretty terrible example for them.

Why must it be that though? What if I just stopped a crucial 3rd down as a DB and I say something along the lines of "you're not catching shit on me today. I told you that since the 1st"

There is nothing wrong with that. Just competitive trash talk

If it is just saying it, it isn’t getting flagged.

If it is getting in the guys’ face and screaming it then it should.

It isn’t about what is being said it is the tone and body language that goes with it.

Exactly. If you are getting up from a pile, or walking by an opponent and say ''Scoreboard'', you're probably not getting flagged. Jump in a guys face and yell "Scoreboard" while pointing at the scoreboard...pretty good chance that you are.
