100% this year I believe. I’m not sure I would go career numbers for kickers. Some are up and down, some find their way eventually, some get on hot streaks. I believe he made all kicks with Detroit, could be wrong

Right, I just saw the number posted in this or another thread. I personally wouldn’t even begin to say which options were better or worse (going for it vs fg) because all of the choices make sense in some capacity.

what if the kicker is really bad in that situation (where they were when his kick could have tied it)?

They could punt looking to pin them deep in their own territory and if they get a 3 and out, get the ball back in good field position.

It’s better than your logic. He goes for bc he is who he is. No growth as a decision-maker is what I am hearing. There is nothing special about this guy and you will see in a couple years

He’s an incredible motivator. He lets his coaches coach. He has built a football team that is aggressive and it’s turned the program around.

He played the game at a high level himself for one. Motivator is way up there on the list when it comes to coaching. He was assistant head coach under Payton in New Orleans for a number of years. You think he might have learned a little in that situation?

15-20 on 4th and 3 or less all season
Kicker is lifetime 9-20 from 48 and beyond. Kicker kicks in a dome and was outside. They haven’t had faith in the kicker all season. This is kicker number 2.

The decision to run on 3rd down was inexcusable. I’ll give ya that.

Great motivator. Quickly instilled a healthy, winning culture.
