Having an owner that will spend and forking up cash will keep the cap situation in check. Moves will always happen but the contract is not as terrible as people think bc Haslam was all-in and he will spend. I worry more about injuries, it seems like every year they have injuries. That is the worst. This year was the worst injury-bitten team in some time
really the guaranteed part is what gets everyone in a huff----- now he is like the 7th averagae paid QB --- 3 more years left on the guaranteed part of the deal. if he starts out 5-1 like he did this year in the games he started- no one is gonna be complaining.

who knew- having rookie undrafted safeties start finally caught up with us- and a busted up thornhill.

What is the point of doing this for every home game? Is it general admission seating?

they were picking on Newsome. I think a lot of the big plays they were playing cover 2 but it didn’t seem to matter-the defense seemed off in a big way. Injuries or not. Either way, they will need Watson and Chubb to stay healthy to achieve the ultimate goal. There was always a ceiling for this team, just disappointed in the defense
If I may…I’ve lived through the Gym Shorts experience. When you see plus offensive minds or you see a team for a second time and watches how you play, Gym often struggles with the adjustment to the adjustment. At times in Philly, they played exceptional defense. However, 2nd time through the division, we saw a drop. You see a Tom Brady in the Super Bowl his offense is gonna put up 500 yards and 33 points. He’s a plus defensive coordinator but there are exploitable chinks in the armor. It was clear to me yesterday that the Texans offensive staff took advantage of his stuff that they saw a few weeks ago.

makes sense man. Still love that he's the DC but yesterday was a bad day for sure.

That evolution for coaches is the secret sauce. If people really understood the importance of evolving and learning from the past there would be more great coaches. Think about the evolution of Belichek teams. Even Lombardi evolved. His Packer Sweep is an answer to teams taking away the power play. He gets an extra pulling lineman at the point of attack. Sweep angles are the inverse of power in a sense. Gym has to evolve. I will own that I haven’t seen enough Browns on a weekly basis so I’m leaning on who he was in Philly. Maybe some of what I’m talking about has already happened. I don’t think he was multiple enough in his willingness to play different looks and I think that limits the defenses ability to disguise. These QBs are too well prepared these days. Disguise is the key to playing great defense. Gym doesn’t pressure enough. Gym is in love with 2 shell. Gym doesn’t do enough post snap rotation of coverages to make the QB think twice.

I’m gonna close with the statement that I’m nit picking a great coach who like most have some blind spots.

I believe there is a standing room only general admission section. But it’s Texans, don’t try to figure it out.

I think the D deserves far more blame than Flacco. Flacco looked amazing in the first half. The Defense kept putting pressure on him and the offense since they couldnt get any stops at all.

If the Browns defense was getting consistent stops and not dominated- Flacco isnt taking those risks if you ask me.

Newsome sucked. Ward looked hurt and sucked.

JOK was the only defender to show up- but he did look absolutely incredible.
agree with a lot of that and D was definitely more to blame in 1st half. Every time we took lead they gave it right back. But D got a stop to start the second half and we were in FG range before the qst pick 6 so not putting that on the D. That was an awful throw by Joe.

JOK for sure showed up.....cannot say I heard Ward mentioned much (nor MJ) and as DBs that's usually a good thing. Newsome was terrible.

Yep....the guaranteed part so overblown and just something for his critics to complain about. compared to many top QBs getting paid his seems like it amounts to a 5 year deal while others are 4 as far as the guarantee.....and if he plays like he did his last 3 games we'll be glad to pay it.

don't forget no Delpit and McLoud, too.

I'm sure that a lot of it but the steelers and Bmore didn't look better in their second look at him...could argue they were worse. Seemed his issue was taking his D on the road and that was a problem all season for whatever reason.

Doubt he needed to show much the last time against Houston with their backup QB (and they even played their lesser backup IMO).

I just don't know what they're watching that I'm not seeing.

Ford is good catching the ball I guess. Seems to make his blocks. So a good 3rd down guy I guess.
70 PFF rating is pure BS. There is no way his blocking, catching or couple of big runs gets him that rating lol

I mean our OL was pretty bad and made even worse for a long stretch when Bitonio went down. as mentioned, PFF not be all end all but they do watch every player on every play with no agenda.

thought Ford was OK for a backup for a good part of the year until we lost all the OL.

Browns are in good hands. This year organizational depth and soundness of principals showed up. They were dealt a horrible hand of injuries and they didn’t let that amend their goals. They had excuses and they didn’t take them. Browns are in good shape if you have Houston Watson.
