Let russ cook lmaoWilson and Payton getting ready to win another one
Respect the grindPatriots committed to the worst record now
I can concede FSU had a great season.Because there are certain things that teams are, for lack of a better term, "asked to do" in order to show that they "deserve" to be in.
A quick "list" would be something like...win all your games, win your conference championship, don't load up on cupcakes in your OOC games.
There are some other criteria that can be used for situations where a team or teams didn't do all that they were "asked to do" to determine who is deserving, or to "seed" teams, but those listed are the main ones.
FSU won all of their games, they won their conference championship and while they did play a couple of cupcakes OOC, they also played LSU and Florida.
They beat Florida with their back up QB and then won their conference championship game with their 3rd string QB.
I'd say that's "deserving".
What happened to FSU would be like the NBA coming to the Celtics before the playoffs and saying "Yeah, we know you have the best record in the East, but Tatum is out with an injury so you're not going to be able to be in the playoffs this year".
But your argument here highlights that their SOS isn't all that. I mean... you talking up the Florida win... Florida got a losing record. And regarding the Louisville win... Louisville just lost to a mid-tier SEC team (Kentucky) the week before.
It was a tough call. But I think they got it right.
Based on the fact that I think (JMO) Bama is the better team. This opinion is heavily influenced by the unfortunate current QB situation at FSU.Based on what?

I'd rather the better teams play and (therefore hopefully) we get better games come playoff time.
Beyond that, Bama faced a somewhat tougher schedule in a clearly better conference. That can (and probably should) matter too.
Again... FSU will have a great opportunity to prove the likes of me wrong when they face off against the Dawgs.
Yep that RG 3 tweet was so perfect. It is also funny to hear the different narrative between Michigan and FSU last night. You would never know fsu offense did more than Michigan last nightProblem is that they won't be able to prove it in the cfp as they should.
And I'm not saying Alabama isn't the better team. In fact, with Saban and a month to prepare, if I were a gambler, I'd probably bet on them to win the NC.
But based on what the criteria has always been and on previous precedent, the 4 teams should be UM, UW, FSU and Texas. They had to bump Texas from #7 to #3 and Alabama from #8 to #4 to drop FSU to #5 even though FSU didn't lose to get this outcome.
I think it was @bksballer89 who mentioned SEC bias earlier...SEC bias has always been there to a point, but there was always at least some obvious logic behind it and they didn't go against established precedent.
This is the last year of the 4 team playoff, so it's like they just said "Fuck it, it's the last year, so we're just gonna do whatever we want".
I'll concede the point about precedent.Problem is that they won't be able to prove it in the cfp as they should.

I find it funny how fsu struggles the last 2 games was brought up but not a word said about bama struggles last week vs auburn. SEC biased is a real thingI'll concede the point about precedent.
Aside from that, (simply put) it's easier to get that perfect record when you're in an easier conference. Which is what the ACC is compared to the SEC.
Frankly, I feel the worst for UGA in all this. I think the Dawgs got jobbed by the refs vs Bama.
Anywho, if UGA was matched against a relative lightweight like Louisville yesterday... they'd be in the playoffs today. So maybe SEC bias isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Didn’t the ACC have a winning record against the SEC this year?I'll concede the point about precedent.
