Not sure, which is why I don't understand why tlance is criticizing the fact they have waited so far. We also don't know what Baker wants.
Pretty safe to say that Allen's deal is the starting point.

The Mahomes deal happened long before it had to because KC approached him with a figure he couldn’t turn down.
And it will look like a bargain in a few years.
Heard the wildfire smoke from the fires out west have stretched all the way to the east coast. You dealing with any of that where you're at?
So you and tlance keep saying. But Baker has to agree.Baker said Allen contract is a win for all qbs....yeah browns going to end up offering 45-50 mil yearly. Should have done his deal before Allen or Jackson
The twisting here is you as I meant to say what you said and even said as I did they are very similar comments. Nice try.No substantive negotiations means exactly what it means. That they haven’t had serious talks.
You twist that all the way to:
“They have not spoken at all”
That is total BS and not what I said.
And if the Browns approach Baker with a figure he cannot turn down make no mistake instead you'd be ripping them for overpaying Baker. The Mahomes deal happened long before it had to because KC approached him with a figure he couldn’t turn down.

Cleveland could have done that with Baker. Every time another QB gets paid, Baker’s asking price goes up. And it doesn’t even matter if he is as good as the other guy getting paid.
a while away but where would you be willing to take him in a fantasy draft (in spite of your disdain for him)?Michael Thomas back at it lol.
I never switched on a player on my favorite team so fast. What a tool

It only looks like a bargain if he stays healthy. Even if lesser talented QBs make more, still need him on the field or any QB deal becomes crippling.

Curious, before you saw what Allen made what would you have been willing to pay Baker?

great...then you must think Browns were right not to have signed him?1 million
agree with last part...was actually thinking a lot later than 3rd. 5-7th or later even.Ehh 3rd round ish. Sounds like he should be back late September/ early October but the QB situation would scare ppl away as well
i ain't so sure. i think this is EXACTLY what Mayfield had in mind. let's be real, franchise QB's don't grow on trees. i think he WILL get more than Allen, ESPECIALLY when you throw in his draft status...mayfield will not get what Allen got, nor should he.
Just my opinion, but I don’t think he will. He is certainly not as good as Allen.i ain't so sure. i think this is EXACTLY what Mayfield had in mind. let's be real, franchise QB's don't grow on trees. i think he WILL get more than Allen, ESPECIALLY when you throw in his draft status...
I would still like to see one more year out of Allen. Got to give it to him bc early in his career he was looking like a bust. The kid worked his ass off and made a historic improvement. He is an athletic freak. But there was some stat said last year he had the most dropped INT's or something like that. We will see, I would love for Baker to get about $35M/year or less but not likely. He proved himself to be a leader on a playoff team that is good enough to get the big bucks. In the end it really doesn't matter if Baker gets the Browns deep in the playoffs or wins a SB they can pay him whatever they want, all that matters is he wins (whether people want to give him credit for it or not).Just my opinion, but I don’t think he will. He is certainly not as good as Allen.
