What'd they do wrong? They said Tua felt fine and passed all concussion tests. If you want to LOL, at least provide a rebuttal.

It's been done to death man. Both the league and NFLPA has criticized how it was handled along with numerous former players and neurosurgeons. And the attending medical expert was fired.

Now I can understand the alternative is a knee jerk reaction as well. But a happy medium.

They’ve never played in a Super Bowl though. I read somewhere that there’s been a lot of those played over many different seasons.

They've never played in Super Bowl, you're kidding?

Hey I remember what you said a few weeks ago. That you were gonna go after all things Cleveland. And I don't expect you to stop with the Browns. You should have some funny stuff to say about the Cavs this season.

And going back farther the Kosar Browns were good.....

The Lions are the most inept NFL franchise at the moment.

Other than perhaps this past week, the Lions are playing hard. Gotta give credit to Coach Kneebiter, lol. Their offense just needs a QB for the future; strong O-line, stud RBs, stud WRs, etc. Now the defense, that needs some serious work yet.

My issue is these aren't difficult calls. Simple calls that the "best in the world" shouldn't miss

Simple. Let the ref in the box correct egregiously bad penalty calls. They already do that for some catch/no catch calls and the like.

Fans just don't get how incredibly difficult it is to ref an NFL game. way tougher than the NBA which is kind of hard, too.

MLB? That's a different story. Very easy to ref/ump at least compared to the other 2 (other than balls/strikes)

I don’t think NFL is harder.

Have a friend who used to ref both basketball and football at the college level. He played basketball all his life, never played football and only watched it very casually growing up.

He said football is a lot easier to ref than basketball.

It isn’t easy mind you, but officials in football have specialized roles in what they are looking for based on their position.

Basketball does too, to a point, but positions are always changing and each official has to look for more types of calls.

That must be why the independent doctor was fired, because all was done correctly.

Yep.

They literally changed the protocol over this incident.

And did so correctly.

What exactly happened to Tua? Turns out that Tua actually didn't have a concussion on Sunday and the Dolphins followed the protocols exactly the way they were constructed. This isn't going to help, because if there's any sign that a player might have a concussion, this would lead to them being placed in concussion protocol. This happened to Teddy Bridgewater who didn't even stumble after he was hit on Sunday. Teams could be left short-handed at certain positions that can lead to players having to play through certain types of injuries because of depth issues.

Clearing the Dolphins reeks of quid pro quo. To get their desired changes, the Union agreed to let the Dolphins slide? Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Some of the folks who were insisting that he had a concussion have now pivoted to..."if his back caused him to stumble like that...what was he doing in the game?" lol

Who is pivoting to that? It's just another question, if that's what is injury truly was (lol). Never mind that he never grabbed for his back, but did grab his head and try to shake out the cobwebs.

Pretty sure the Browns are playing with a journeyman back up QB right now. But I could be wrong about that. :heh:

You're placing these losses directly at the feet of Brissett?

some of these plays in football are near impossible to see full speed/live. A catch near the sideline? One guy needs to see if receiver caught it, had it controlled all the way through, were his feet in bounds, did the defender interfere.

could be something like this in the NBA...guess a major difference is one call could change entire complexion of the game in the NFL while unless it's near the end that is not likely to happen on a random bball call.

He's made some critical late game mistakes but no way is he solely responsible for losses and overall has played far better than expected (thinking game plan by coach could be helping).

The NFLPA's priority first and foremost is player safety. They hold no allegiances to any team(s), so the logic doesn't exactly add up.

Well, the doctor in question was not affiliated with the Dolphins as this is part of the concussion protocols that were put in place.

So, try again.

The attending medical expert was unaffiliated with the Dolphins. That doesn't fall on the Dolphins.

Eh...yes and no. I think it allowed them to make a decision most anyone with 2 eyes would make differently.

Like went Colt Mccoy got rocked by Harrison and the Browns let him play the entire second half. Of which he does not remember.

Gotta love folks who rail against players and coaches making medical decisions and demanding that doctors be brought to the sidelines, including a doctor not affiliated with a team, to make those decisions, then railing against doctors when the doctor agrees with the coach/player.
