Even if the stay is short, a young team getting playoff experience is usually a good thing. Plus, young teams sometimes don't understand that they can't win and will throw a scare into a higher ranked team, if not win outright.
Yeah with the lack of power and trouble to score runs at times I am not expecting much but always fun to watch more baseball for your team

What NFL QB is undefeated vs the spread this season?

You'll never guess this one......unless you cheat and look it up.

I don’t know.

Lot of injury history there.

He is very good, but that would be unwise, IMO.
My squad is all set in the OF but he’s gonna set a record despite the injury history.

That’s great. Experience for the young team. Not going to get into the debate of worst division bc they are in it but in the grand scheme it doesn’t matter
seriously- beside @trojanfan12 - who had a really good post- a lot of hate for a 90+ win team who Vegas had at like 76 wins- a team with one of the lowest payrolls in the league that had 16 rookies make their debut this year and was by far the youngest team in baseball- and still has most of their blue chip prospects in the minors.

not too mention- a team that will have 2 guys finish in the top 10 in the AL MVP race (Gimenez and Ramirez--- maybe even 3 with Clase who was on Jayson Stark's ballot at TheAthletic today), a team with 2 very good starting pitchers in Bieber and McKenzie, and maybe the best closer in baseball, and a team with one of the best, if not the best, manager in baseball. Gimenez and Kwan likely to win gold gloves and Kwan likely to finish top 3 in ROY- and most years he would be a solid bet to win it.

They could def. use some more power, and more experience but its been impressive what they have done. One of the best stories in baseball without a doubt.

Phillies payroll is 3x bigger, built with a ton of veterans and I would prob. take the Guardians in a series. Absolutely would take the Guardians front office and manager over all but the very top echelon teams in baseball.

Guardians 3rd starter is not bad either. While he doesnt strike out a ton of guys- you could do a lot worse than a guy who went 15-5, with a 3.38 ERA and pitched 186 innings. A 3.38 ERA and was #8 in innings pitched in the American League makes for a pretty valuable player.

In a league where so few guys throw 200 innings anymore- a workhorse that can go out and give you a chance to win every night is pretty darn good for a #3 guy.

Only 5 guys in MLB have thrown 200 or more innings this year with 1 game to play.....pretty crazy.....that used to be the benchmark for a work horse.

Now that bench mark seems to be about 175 innings- which only 34 guys did this year.

out of the 5 guys that pitched 200 innings- the best ERA was Sandy Alcantra. The 2nd best ERA was Shane Bieber.

@fightinfunbags Nola was one of the 5 guys that threw 200 IP or more---- with a 3.25 era. incredibly valuable. He only makes like 17M next year too. Huge asset in some ways- but only one the year deal takes some value away. He would get a nice return- but damn....any guy that can take the ball every 5 days, pitch well and keep you in the game is just enormously valuable.

The hate isn’t for the Indians. It’s for knob slobbing Cleveland fans. Pretty much you.

Yankees actually got off well. Did not want to face Seattle or Toronto. Will take my chance with tampa or Cleveland

Modern baseball is crazy to me sometimes. This recent push to use the lead-off spot to get the team's best hitter the most at-bats makes sense on the surface. That guy will get the most plate appearances. But is that the best allocation of that hitter? The Phillies did that with Kyle Schwarber this year. Dude hit 46 home runs...and yet won't even get to 100 RBIs (94). That's crazy to me and it's a product of the fact that when he hits it's with the bottom of the lineup that was in front of him. His RISP average is actually 10 points higher than his season average. Mind-boggling.

#3 spot should still be the sweet spot. I can see if the best guy is a speed guy that can hit for average and steal bases.

The only “lead-off” kind of attribute Schwarber brings is that he sees a lot of pitches in his at bats. Other than that, seems like a square peg in a round hole.
