They’re almost incentivized to do it:
1. Arbitrator rules in favor of NFL’s claim.
2. Arbitrator lays out punishment
3. Length of suspension becomes widely criticized.
4. NFL can be a fraud and pretend to take a stand on sexual assault and assign a higher penalty making it seem like they are really serious about this issue.

The only down side from where they sit on raising the number of games comes in them going back on their word when they said they would respect the outcome of the independent former judge. That won’t play too badly. “At the time, we didn’t realize that we would win the claim and take care of our end, only to find out the length of suspension was too short.”

The last thing the NFL wants is this dragging along. Maybe they give him 2 more games? What is the point of doing that, you overturn a judge you appointed for an extra 2 games. That isn't going to make people happy. Outsiders want a year or longer and if you go down that road this all drags along, Watson is playing football to start the season and that is the last thing the NFL wants.

The problem with your opinion and many others is they are thinking with their heart and not their brain-not looking at the facts surrounding the case. Nothing has changed, all you have is hope, yet you say, “you fully expect” LMAO. Like I said, “it could happen” but it isn’t expected.
