Eh.
Not sure I agree.
Reddick does not create shots for himself. He needs to run off pin downs or have a dynamic player like Simmons or Embiid create for him. He is best utilized alongside #1 option types, not anchoring the second unit.
Fultz is precisely the type of player capable of running the offense through when Simmons and Embiid are off the floor. I realize Philly can stagger minutes, but I also think a shooter alongside Simmons makes a lot more sense than another creator.
And I do think Fultz will be significantly better than Reddick this year. It isn't about whether he should get minutes, just when they can be best utilized.
All fair points. I would argue that Fultz will be the anchor of the 2nd unit though. He's starting but he will likely be the first to come off and then come back in when Simmons takes a seat.
Along with keeping Redick's minutes manageable, I think they want to have another creator on the floor with Simmons and that Saric, Covingonton and Embiid will be enough of a perimeter threat. Having Fultz and Simmons on the floor at the same time poses some matchup problems especially if Fultz can hit an effective mid-range.
