Irish getting a lot of attention for not being "relevant"

Depends on what you consider relevant. Traditional program , probably the biggest brand and fan base (the majority with no connection to the program) in college football , lots of fans of other teams don;t like them. If thats what you consider relevant than you got that. Being in the talk for NCs or BCS wins well your team sneaked up ( meaning they werent picked to be at or near the top) last year but other than that it's a big no for more than 20 years.
The Boston celtics come to mind. They were basketball royalty as a franchise but spent the years between Birds departure and the formation of the big three languishing. Were they well known and hated ? Yes. But were they "relevant" in those 20 years? I'd say no.

If you're QB is named the starter before the season starts and starts every game and no other QB on the roster beats him out in the coaches fourth season. Can you really whine about you being "down to your 3rd string QB" ?

Miami- or should I say thug U.

Fla-hated them since the 90s, hated Spurrier when he was there

ND- They can shove that TD Jesus bullshit and the "holier than thou" persona

OSU- One of the most overrated programs in recent memory. Im glad MSU exposed them for the frauds they are.

Stoops has run a very clean program and doesn't put up with any shit. He launched his 5* starting qb Rhett Bomar right before the season started. Mack would of slapped him on the butt, clapped his hands, and say nice try.

Iowa (losing to them kept us from a Rose Bowl in 2010)
LSU (stole our no loyalty head coach)
Bama (has our no loyalty head coach)
Whoever's playing Michigan State (they need to have all of their players catch mono and be out for a week)

Michigan - because they are Michigan
Florida - Doesn't even stem from the championship game, just always disliked them from back when Spurrier was the HC.
A&M - more of a referendum on their fans than their program, also because I live in TX I'm bombarded with it daily.
Texas - see explanation for A&M, just to a slightly lesser extent for me.
USC - I didn't like Pete Carroll and really hated Kiffin. Dislike their program due to that now.
