I think what is happening is teams with a great history are getting too much love in the present when they are basically average now. Lets get with the times.

That’s always my barometer on judging teams success as well.

In no particular order:
How many National Championships have they won?
How many league titles have they won?
What’s their head to head ranking against South Carolina?

That list is crap.
The overrated teams are the in the top 10 because sports writers are afraid to leave them out, and they need to market to their readers, so throughout the ages, these teams have always been ranked high, even in bad years, from generation to generation.

It's just how it is.
Sports writers are like weathermen.
