I know it's early ... BUT the: Teoscar Hernández, Kolten Wong, AJ Pollock, Cooper Hummel and Tommy La Stella deals are looking like the absolute worst deals any team has ever done in a single off season.

Toescar Hernandez: I think he'll come around at the plate, although I said the same think about Winker. The defense is a serious issue though and I'm pretty sure that has been a lingering issue for him.

Kolten Wong: I hope he comes around, but nothing I've seen has been very inspiring. I think I read that he had changed his approach at the plate when he was with the Brewers, and it seems like that has been a problem with the Mariners.

A.J. Pollock: Hasn't been completely awful and I think he'll come around.

Cooper Hummel: I see him as a depth piece at best.

Tommy La Stella: WHY THE FUCK IS OUR UTILITY GUY PLAYING DH!?!?!?!?!?!?

I know I said it in the previous post, but I feel like it deserves it's own post.

WHY THE FUCK IS TOMMY LA STELLA PLAYING DH?????

Seriously, I'd prefer putting Teoscar at DH and put Pollock in the outfield. Here are their numbers at the plate the last 3 years (2021 - 2023):

A.J. Pollock: 888 AB, 53 doubles, 2 triples, 37 HR, 131 RBI, .267/.320/.456
Tommy La Stella: 409 AB, 26 doubles, 1 triple, 9 HR, 42 RBI, .242/.293/.377

I'm not saying that A.J. Pollock is any savior for the team, but at least he can save us from watching Teoscar play defense and from watching Tommy La Stella play the "designated hitter" position when he is one of the worst hitters on the team.

Cal at least looks concerned. I know we don't all show emotion on our faces, but the play so far from these guys just feels so perfunctory. Challenging time to be a fan for sure, but we have to look for silver linings. Kelenic looking kinda like an MLB hitter lately, so there's that.
