I'm so damn sick of marginal players who can't get a bunt down.

This was 100% a missed opportunity to pick up some grounds with both the Red Sox and Yankees losing and the A’s on the verge. Wasted a stellar performance by Gilbert. Disappointing… sad… and infuriating loss.

If I was Servais I’d be getting all of these guys out and early to practice bunting….. but they don’t really teach that anymore so forget it. This has happened over and over again the course of the season.

Meanwhile, local product Snell lost the perfect game top 7th, but still have no-hitter intact.

A bunt with a runner on 2nd, no outs in extras is almost an automatic move to make, even if the infield is pulled in. Put a bunt and run on, what are the odds you'd have somethine to lose? A risk with a potential big payoff IMO

Snell lost the no-hitter and shutout top 8th. The jinx is real.

Former M's Nelson Cruz becomes oldest player to hit 30HR at the age of 41. How does he continue to do it? Pretty awesome to see him have continued success. Outside of Ichiro, him and Adrian Beltre are easily two of my favorite players after leaving the team.

Didn’t he just start back up?
Ya Servais said he bruised his bone with the pad while doing sliding drills. You can't make this shit up.

This isn't Moore's first late game blunder. I think we covered that earlier in the year.

Or we could play a left fielder who has any business being there for the first time in decades. Looked like JK was calling for it and Bauers didn't peel off.
That's not the first time he's had communication issues, he may have called it but is too quiet or something is what I'm saying because it doesn't seem like the other guys are hearing it. It's happened more than once but they didn't run into each other like today.

First comment I saw after clicking on that tweet was a comment about how dumb it was to bunt in that situation. Immediately clicked away. God, some baseball fans are dumb af. Given that the player was also Moore, a strikeout was more likely in that situation.

Kelenic needs to work on taking control and calling the other guys off before someone gets Betancourted if he's going to be playing CF. Plays like that are dangerous.
But CF is his position

It isnt his first late game blunder this road trip.

With the extra inning rules what they are, I dont think i would ever advocate bunting as the road team in the top half of the inning. It just doesnt make sense imo. With Moore I suppose he has zero chance of hitting a RHP who touches 100 mph so maybe a bunt is the best you can hope for with him. Which if a .170 hitter can't get a bunt down, I dont see his purpose. The whole situation was odd. He replaced Bauers for defense which I am curious if the numbers bear out him actually being a substantial upgrade defensively, secondly you had Marmo on the bench who I know isnt amazing but I trust him alot more vs RHP.

But yeah everything about that was annoying. Either way 1 run in the 10th likely wasnt gonna prevent a loss at that point.
