So Seager swings at a ball, watches one go by right down the middle... and then gets a hit.

Weird AB that gets two RBI so yeah.

Bases loaded no out and a pitcher that has to get pulled because of a hammy, and they end up with a whopping two runs.

Again that's entirely and totally just bad. Good teams go for the throat against teams like this. They are playing so flat right now.

Span can have some really ugly AB's for a contact hitter. Not sure what those half-hearted bunt attempts were.

At least Seager showed up to drive in a few.

I didnt watch yesterdays game, but found out we walked 11 times? How do you only score 5 runs off that?

Until Seager starts to get hits when the team really needs them (for the big bucks he's hauling in) on a fairly consistent basis, I'll still go "oh fuck, it's Seager" when he come to the plate. The dude has burned the team too many times. Hope he gets it turned around-and gets it turned around sooner rather than later.....

I said before this series I expected to drop a game somewhere just because there's no way they can come out of that 10 game span with the same swagger they had going into it and boy was that right. They just look flat. They left so many on base and just couldn't string together the kinds of AB's they were at the beginning of the month.

Hope it doesn't take long to snap back out of it.

I wonder if Diaz is saying a prayer, talking to himself or just smelling the inside of his cap when he's standing there getting ready to bring on the thunder.

Yep, another notch on the W board. Glad we pulled this off but was a little on the ugly side with these guys.

Look like they’re back to their old ways.

Scoring late and winning by 1 run.

Hopefully this turn Seager’s season around.

Winning ugly happens sometimes .. We’ll take it ... M’s need to get healthy and also make a move to improve before the deadline, because IF they make the playoffs they’re gonna be facing some dam good teams in the American League ... Just making the playoffs isn’t the goal, they gotta compete once they get there ... I’m thinking way ahead right now...

I mean this is how they've been doing it all year though. Scraping out 1 run come from behind wins against not very good teams. I agree that it's not a very good strategy against the likes of the Yankees or Astros, but this is who the Mariners are.

I agree with winning ugly happens. It's baseball. The Yankees just got swept by the Rays for God's sake.

I disagree with just making the playoffs isn't the goal. For the actual players on the team, sure, but as a franchise and as fans, making the playoffs is a huge success, especially when you consider Felix has turned into "better Yovani Gallardo" and you don't have Cano for 80 games. The Yankees and Astros are clearly a step above the M's, and the Red Sox are arguably there.

Yes, do try to improve and fight for all you can, but should that end with a Wild Card game loss or a Divisional series loss, I'm chalking that up as a big success.
