10th inning, man on 3rd, no outs, and....no home runs so that means we didn't score. #RefuseToWin
My concern isn't with the players or their health, it's with the management. Servais is a first year manager and I'm not yet convinced he has the skill set to guide them out of this funk. It's the toughest part of managing a baseball team and so far I haven't been impressed with his reactions to any of it. His stars are not appearing to feel any heat, nor are we seeing Cano/Cruz take things on themselves and do something about leading this team.
Without strong leaders in that dugout I'm not convinced they can get where they need to be.
Hope I'm dead wrong.
Glad I was at work and missed all the action.
I just don't see the M's skipper doing anything to get this team out of its funk. Where's the passion and the anger? There is no leadership in the dugout and it shows.
Depleted arms? Sure, but it doesn't explain all the lazy swings, Cruz being a ground ball double play machine, Cano not showing that he even cares, and all of the lost opportunities with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs.
And don't even get started on the weak ass defense and errors in the field.
There just aren't any real bright spots on this roster right now and it doesn't feel like the skipper has the ability to knock any sense into these players and get things turned around. It's like they are just waiting to see if it changes on its own.
I can't put this one on the ownership. Dipoto came in and brought his dude with him.The Mariners never seem to target proven MLB managers, it's alway's a first time managers being given a chance so they save $ .... I"m not totally against that, but if that's all you ever do WTF result do you expect ? I would rather see a team hire proven managers most of the time and every now and then give a rookie manager a shot... Mariners do it the opposite way ...
