Just walked in, saw the score and my first thought was welcome back to 3rd place in the division. Houston is passing us by at light speed. 10.5 games back. :tsk:

Is this the last night we see this team above .500 this year? Or are they due for another run if/when they can get some arms back?

This Mariners team just can't put it together, again I think the future could be brighter because of management changes and ownership changes BUT DAM, talk about falling off fast.. It seem's like yesterday we were playing Texas tied atop the division and you blink and were 10 games back... $@%^&@ Mariners baseball...

I still think this team has enough talent to get to 90 wins, which would mean 54-36 from here on out. Obviously it would mean getting healthy, staying healthy, and vastly improving play from what we've seen these last 3 weeks, but a 90+ win team is what we had after about 50 games of the season when they were 31-21. Not saying I would bet a lot of money on it, but I see a pathway to get there with what we have. As bad as June has been, the Mariners are still #2 in the AL in both runs scored and ERA.

Just as likely though: we don't nose out of this free fall soon enough and we become sellers in July. Vets like Smith, Cruz, Lind and maybe even Guti could be valuable to teams looking for a bat.

My concern isn't with the players or their health, it's with the management. Servais is a first year manager and I'm not yet convinced he has the skill set to guide them out of this funk. It's the toughest part of managing a baseball team and so far I haven't been impressed with his reactions to any of it. His stars are not appearing to feel any heat, nor are we seeing Cano/Cruz take things on themselves and do something about leading this team.

Without strong leaders in that dugout I'm not convinced they can get where they need to be.

Hope I'm dead wrong.

so under .500 extremely likely after today

i didn't expect the fall to be this precipitous

84-85 wins is what i predicted at the beginning of the season, so we'll see if they can get there

Why didn't Sampson start the game? The early lineup showed that he was scheduled. Nuno pitched on the 19th and again on the 20th. And he goes 68 pitches today. Geezuz, he's going to be the next pitcher to hit the DL.

Homeruns are great and all, but I'd sure like to see them sustain a rally occasionally. When was the last time we saw that? San Diego?

Another game another chumpire who thinks the strike zone is the size of a bus

Dickhead ump wants to make the game about himself. These guys ruin baseball. mlb has got to do something about it.

It feels like during this slump the Mariners have been playing in quicksand. every inning we get boned on strike calls and its sure not helping things. every freakin inning.

I like Seager, but why do you swing 3-0 in the ninth with no outs when the pitcher can't find the zone? Then pitcher walks next batter on 4 pitches and goes 3-2 on the one after that.
