Why do you say so?

He's just got a cocky/superiorish way about him. He's showed as much during some of his press conferences and the way he's acted on the sidelines from time to time since he's been at Vandy. It can be a good thing to be confident/cocky as far as getting his team ready and in recruiting but he's just kinda always rubbed me the wrong way. I may be in the minority in feeling this way but it is what it is I guess. Don't get me wrong, I respect the school and root for them unless they're playing Bama, just not a fan of Franklin...... but I'm a Saban fan, so what do I know?

Saban is a dick, but all Bama fans love him... I guess this is kinda like that

I totally understand. In fact, most college FB coaches rub me that way. Name just about every high-profile college coach and I can't stand their arrogant nature. In order of hatred for me is Kiffin (no close second), Urban Meyer, Saban, Les Miles, Mike Gundy, Rich Rodriguez, Chip Kelly, etc. And I'll always hate that sickening arrogance of Jim Tressel.

But I never got that feeling at all from Franklin. And what's really strange is that I was raised to hate Florida football (FSU fans in my family from Tallahassee) but always liked Steve Spurrier.

Okay, I should clarify before I get crucified. "Like" is way too strong a word for Spurrier. His own mother doesn't "like" him. I guess I just tolerated him better than most. Urban Meyer, not quite. If there was a word stronger than hate, it wouldn't be strong enough for Urban. Prick.

How can you hate a mentally handicapped person?

Franklin is a pickle head. Not sure what that means, but it's not good...

Vandy is the school for the rich and spoiled though, but most don't give two shits about the football team. So they do have a small dedicated fanbase because of it. However, those that went to school there can be pretty annoying sometimes.

I grew up in Tennessee and had to endure all the ignorant kids at school wearing orange all the time cause Bubba does and so does everybody else. Then I moved to Bama for two years where when you meet someone before you tell them your name you tell them Auburn or 'Bama? I hate both fanbases but USC and Oregon are very close to them. Oregon fans are like nouveau riche to me. Accomplish something then let's talk.

That Vanderbilt competes against the best teams in the nation and does so, not with prickish asshole "flavor of the week" whore coaches, but with class is why I support them. I love seeing Vandy stomp TN in football and Kentucky in basketball.

:confused2:

yes, Vandy fans are pretty bad because they think they're so much smarter than everyone else

Compared to the rest of the SEC? I would say Vandy's academics are well beyond the grasp of your typical SEC student, not to mention the typical non-student/alumnus fan...

While that might be true, Roland and I have Mathematics degrees from Auburn and Alabama. Just because some rich kid gets his degree in American Studies, Humanities, etc. from Vandy doesn't make him smarter than either one of us. However, this is the mentality that many have graduating out of there, or even not graduating there.
