You know what's really lost in all this Luka for AD trade talk? The Mavs still have a great player in Irving who is capable of being a #1 in the short term till AD returns. Irving is still really good at you know, the game of basketball....
And while he is no longer a viable #2 he can still co-exist with both AD and Irving as the #3 guy shooting from the perimeter.
People better not sleep on the Mavs.
My guess would be the disowned splash brother.Who is this #3 that you didn't mention by name?
Dallas let's guys go after they have some success....
Brunson, they let him go as a FA after giving him a lowball offer in preseason I think it was.
And then trade Luka because they don't want to pay him?
Something with that franchise. Looks like a pattern to me....cheap asses.
Not even close to the same. Though it was a blunder. Brunson walked because his agent wanted a fair deal the year before and the Mavs flat said no. Then they made a decent offer when he was a FA but it was too late. If they had simply resigned Brunson they wouldn't have had to give up two players and three picks to get Kyrie. Their front office isn't winning any awards the last 5 yearsThe offer they gave Brunson was fair. Knicks were willing to overpay to get him.
He elevated his game in New York in ways that he was probably never going to be able to playing alongside Luka in Dallas.
Easy to say the Knicks were right and Dallas was wrong now, but NY drew a decent amount of criticism when they signed Brunson to the deal that they did.
Not the same as giving away Luka.
Yeah....just because it was his brother included in the trade its supposed to make it reliable? So…
Because Marcus Morris says it you believe it is true?
Not exactly the most reliable source.
Yep.....I do believe Lebron knew, but not because Marcus Morris says so.So…

That part most likely.I think he knew before the trade happened, but I don't think he was really involved in it. At the least, there was likely a quick phone call from Pelinka saying "this is about to happen".
Also, the Mavs had approached the Lakers several times re: AD and the Lakers had always asked for Luka.
So, Lebron may have known that if Luka was involved, the Lakers would do the trade and was good with that.
