Well, what he said did sound better than saying "my ass is still pounding from what Ohio State did to me".

What's wrong with simply saying, "The better team won. We know what we need to work on to get better."? :noidea:

Is the sec the only conference where you can win two conference games and make a bowl?

I mean, you could go 2-6 in conference and hold wins over UK and Vandy only then find yourself packing the bags for a bowl.

No. Any conference with 8 conference games and 4 non-conference games can result in a 6-6 record with a 2-6 conference record and 4-0 non-conference record.

Teams still play 8 game schedules like the SEC? Embarrassing.

But hey, at least those other conferences actually go to another team's stadium ooc.

From the link in post #368:

"The SEC simply can't have it both ways.

When the conference was ripping off seven straight national titles, the strength of the conference was one of the primary reasons that its best teams were "battle-tested" for those big games.

Now, suddenly, it's a liability? Come on."

Those purposely designed shitfest OOC schedules, including those Nov home games against high school teams. Give it a break Gus. Your singing to the choir and your buttbuddies at ESecPN.

That wasn't his point.

Sure, any team with 8 conference games can go 2-6 in conference and go to a bowl. The real fact is that SEC schools justify their piss poor OOC schedule by talking about how grueling their conference slate is. I don't care how tough you think your schedule is, Tennessee. Beating UK and Vandy to go to a bowl after beating Chattanooga, Arkansas St., and Utah St. isn't impressive.

Reportedly, Gus Malzahn has claimed the SEC is at a "disadvantage" in the CFP because. . . wait for it. . . other conferences are "fresher." Apparently, SEC teams are worn out from playing each other. Never mind the fact that the majority of SEC teams schedule a November "breather" into their November slates--a league game is played earlier rather than later in the season as with Auburn's season-opener vs. Arkansas or South Carolina's vs. Texas A&M last year. But, it suggests that the specific fatigue issue shouldn't be an issue at all. Alabama, for example, had both a bye and a game vs. mighty Western Carolina over its final six weeks while Ohio State played six consecutive Big Ten opponents. "Freshness" is just another "excuse," and Malzahn is just another whining SEC coach trying to spin an old narrative. It's embarrassing.
Oh shit, here we go again. The poor SEC!!! Why do fans buy into this crap? We go though this shit every year and "no one" can prove that the SEC football schedule is any stronger than the PAC 12 or the BIG 10. Gus needs to keep his mouth shut and to play the game/games.
