Let's see....50 plus guys on a team between the ages of low 20's to mid 30's from a variety of backgrounds making more money than many have seen in their short lifetimes. Maybe just maybe a knucklehead or two gets exposed. Seems a lot like society in general to me and I'm sure every team has a few. Should be another interesting off season with opinions galore on what our cowboys should do.

Suh would make the defense worse from the baggage he carries and his attitude. Garrett is building a team with the right kind of guys and Suh does not fit that criteria. Now before I get jumped on the Man has talent and is a force to be considered but overall he does not fit well in Dallas

JMHO

While I agree with your reasons (which is why I wouldn't sign him) I do have to say he definitely makes us better. My point is that he doesn't make us ENOUGH better to offset his huge contract.

If you asked me if I would rather a DLine of DLaw, Crawford, Suh, and Mincey or a DL of DLaw, Crawford, Raji, Hardy and money left over, I'd take the second option without Suh. Realistic line will be DLaw, Crawford, Brent, Mincey with a FA added here or there....while it would be nice to add a prime time pass rusher, I think Rod likes strength in numbers on the DL vs one main guy. I'd see us spend the money on our own mostly.

Any rumors/talk going on down there as to who the Cowboys will target? I guess it's tough to speculate until we see how much Dez and Demarco get.

It sounds like they are gonna try and sign their own and then go the same route as last year, try and add some cheap contributors after the big money FA's come off the board

I think Dallas plays big money free agents for their own, (20M type guaranties $$) and play a little in the mid-range type guys from other teams. Dallas kept a whole bunch of D-linemen they liked from last year. For once....I think the draft is what their thinking for impact players to add.

BOOM..............there it was

Time will tell this tale

Ya know Romo....I'm starting to think this guy might fit well in Dallas with Rod. Certainly a player to keep an eye on in my not so humble opinion.

Pros:
- Great size, especially in comparison to this draft class.
- Very quick off of the line.
- Can play ¾ OLB and 4/3 DE interchangeably.
- Plays with great pursuit.
- Very strong, uses his strength well.
- Consistently a force on the defensive line.
- Makes plays all over the field.
- Very quick around the edge and with pass rushing moves.
- Eats up the gaps often.

Cons:
- Doesn’t always close out on the tackle well, missed multiple sacks.
- Doesn’t read the run too well.
- Plays poorly against the rush.

Review:
Fowler may be the best pass rusher in this draft. He plays quick, explosive and powerful football. He makes an impact all over the football field. Fowler lined up interchangably between a ¾ OLB and a 4/3 DE all season long, and he played great at both positions. He pursued the ball very well and was a consistent force. His size helped him tremendously, and he used his strength to his advantage. In a strong draft class of pass rushers, his size may be what sets him apart from the rest.

With the up’s come the down’s though, and Fowler has a glaring weakness in the rushing game. He doesn’t read the rush well, and overall isn’t a very good rush defender. His tackling is also very inconsistent, as he often times couldn’t set to slow down and make the tackle.

Fowler hasn’t really struck scouts as one of the top defensive lineman yet (Ray, Gregory, Williams), but it should just be a matter of time before he’s put right into the same category. Though his rush defense isn’t the greatest, his pass rush is elite and he will make an immediate impact wherever he gets drafted.

I don't think he will make it to us. Dupree might though. The thing Dupree will likely do is raise his value in the combine. I like Fowler better, but both had big moments last year and they also coasted some as well

I've seem Fowler compared anywhere from Terell Suggs to Amthony Spencer , who I think was a poor mans T Suggs. When he wanted to play, he just looked so explosive. I have a tendency to like Florida defensive players though. They have a CB right now that will be a JR this yr I think that is best I've seen in years in the SEc and that includes Peterson and Haden.

The Cowboys declined the 3 year $24 million option on Melton. Having young players step up like Crawford did last year can work wonders on a cap situation

The Cowboys saved about $8.4 million in cap space by declining Melton's option

Anyone else hearing about a ''Ray Rice like'' video causing the Cowboys to hold off on a longterm deal for Dez? Hoping this is just BS...

I'm starting to think that Fairley takes a huge step forward during his next contract.

Cowboys are working on a multi year extension with Beasley. That's a great thing

I'm sure it's a "cuttable" contract with little guarantees...

You're right about that, but he's a pretty talented kid and fits the scheme IMO. Could be a nice under the radar move
