Minor league records are mostly suspect, especially those before 1992, it is said. I found a few links but some haven't been updated. Also, some minor league fields have fences as short as 250 feet so there's a lot of asterisks on the records if they're even used. I found some interesting stats.

In 1954, Joe Bauman broke out (if one can "break out" from a 53-home run season), winning the triple crown and
also leading the league in runs and walks for Roswell. His totals were eye-popping. In 138 games, he had 199 hits in 498 at bats for a .400 average. He hit 35 doubles, 3 triples, and 72 home runs – the latter, a professional baseball record that stood for years until Barry Bonds topped it in 2001. On the side, Bauman ran a service station on route 66 for years. I don't think Bauman ever played in the big leagues.

Mike Hessman is one of only four players in history to hit over 400 home runs in the minor leagues. He retired in 2015. He played a limited number of games in MLB and hit .178.

After 4 innings, Hoskins has his 32nd and 97th rbi. Cozens, his 31st and 97th rbi. This is getting tiresome. There's 30 games left. Each should make 40.

It would be so cool if they brought these 2 up to the Phillies in September. I wish the Phillies didn't have the rule of must go to AAA before MLB.

Yeah. Cozens did come up for spring training this year but only for 1 game, 1 AB. I wonder the point of that. That should qualify him for September callup.

Nick Williams goes 3-5 and hits 6th Homerun for the season. Now hitting .282 with 24 rbis. Darin Ruf goes 3-5 with a double and 2 rbis. He has 15 Rbis in 16 games and raised his average to.284.
Dylan Cozens hit his 15th homerun of the season. Plus has 45 Rbis and is hitting .283.
Make me an offer. Trade deadline is August 12th!

Going to check out the BlueClaws tonight. Don't get to see one of the top 30 prospects pitching tonight (Tirado, Kilome, or Edgar Garcia). Instead, I get to see some Panamanian bum with 1 QS this season. I expect him to strike out 10-15 and give me an internet boner.

And I want to see Jose Pujols hit one of the lifeguard chairs on the fly. And maybe watch Zach Morris pitch, just so I can make some Saved by the Bell jokes.

Going to the ballpark? They had a pig roast when I was there in July.

Yeah. Missed the pig roast, and was a little bummed that they didn't do the All You Can Eat BBQ for Father's Day like they did last year.

I may also boo the Phanatic for making Ruben Amaro give Ryan Howard that contract.

Jan Hernandez played the role of Jose Pujols tonight, hitting two taters. First one was a no-doubter, second one was a laser line drive that just got out.

Arauz got a quality start :wank: and seven Ks :wank::wank::wank::wank::wank::wank::wank:. Hopefully he gets called up to take Velasquez's spot in the rotation.

Did get to see Garcia pitch in relief. He has some life on his fastball. And Randolph seems to be transitioning to the outfield fine. Made a nice catch jumping into the wall, and almost took away a double on a ball just out of his reach.

Phil Klein allows one run in 7.2 innings pitched. His era is under two. he should get the next call up to the
Phillies. Darin Ruf continues to impress. He hit his 20th Homerun of the season. All of his offensive
numbers are above average as he is in a groove. Go Phillies!
