Minor league games are fun. I hope to make it up to Allentown soon. Are tickets still like $12?

They are fun, Omar, there's less people milling around, they have a band playing until the game starts, and there's some dumb entertainment like the South Pacific Hula Dancers at the BlueClaws game. :L

You can pay $10 or $12 for general admission and probably sit where you want to since there's a lot of empty seats and ushers are easy not like at CBP. You should find something for under 20 bucks. At Reading ticket prices were up to $30 but I had a great seat on the 1b line 10th row for $13. At Lakewood, $17 for a few rows behind the Claws dugout. LHV might be higher. Check the affiliate web site for the seating

That sounds delicious, jvett and yep, the experience at the minor league level is really a blast for all the reasons you stated. Wwwaaaayyyyy better most times than many major league parks!

Yeah, retro, entertainment is what it's about for the fans and there's no negative fan feedback toward the players since they're out there doing the best they can for a thousand or two a month. A lot of work goes into preparing the game events at these lower levels and the local fans come out by the thousands. Plus, there's the usual tributes around the stadium recognizing the "greats" who came through on their way to the majors.

Hoskins is in beast mode. he hit 2 more homeruns tonight and drove in 6 runs. He now has 24 homers and 75 rbis. He leads the league in both categories. Reading just keeps on winning!

Did you know that Howard hit 106 HRs in A- thru AAA ('01-'05) before they brought him up? So far, Hoskins has 50 in four yrs at several levels of A and AA and overall is .291/.362/.509. Cozens has 61 after 5 years in the minors and is .284/.369/.584. As with Howard, I suppose they'll have to linger another year in AA then AAA at least before they are deemed "ready."

Even with how good Hoskins has been this year, he was probably better last year (not counting the difference between the two A ball levels and AA).

Fightens lost tonight but Hoskins was at it again. 30th homer and 94th rbi. Can a team use three first basemen? Howard, Joseph, and Hoskins? :dhd:

Josh Tobias, 23, 2b, .312/.382/.833, has been moved up to Clearwater after Kingery was promoted to Reading. He was hitting .405 in his last 10 games at Lakewood. He reminds me a little of Tony Gwynn, even if that's a stretch. Got hot at CLW right away, 8/16.
