Maybe NDs QB is coming into his own. Marshall and Stanford obviously were a result of overconfidence from a team that should not have been overconfident. But I doubt SC is looking forward to their matchup and whoever gets ND in a bowl may not be happy about it. I would not be too excited about LSU or Texas either.

Although the committee is going to have to go through some mental gymnastics to get 3 SEC teams in the playoff. It would be hard to tap any two-loss team in front of a 0 or 1 loss conference champ. It will be interesting if LSU were to upset Georgia in the SEC championship. Does the loser go and winner not?

Here is a prediction, Alabama will lose its bowl game, because after all it is not worth playing if it is not for the championship.

We have had that before. Alabama instead of Ohio State a few years ago. Ohio State lost to Oklahoma early while Alabama played Mercer or Citadel in one of its non-conference games. Had Ohio State scheduled the same way they would have been a 1 loss Champ.

Again, the Academic All-American thing and the Nobel Prize thing are likely not even priorities, but Iowa's sucking in both make the B1G look worse.

Oh, I have credited Iowa for their having one of the greatest Wrestling Programs of all-time, with only Oklahoma St being better.

Granted the refs will do all they can to make sure and help either OSU or Michigan to win the game.

But if Big Slick is the QB and Ibrahim is still healthy, I wouldn't assume nothing. If NW can keep within 14 of mighty OSU and Maryland can keep within 7 of mighty Michigan, there is no way a blowout of Minnesota is guaranteed. With our receiving corps dropping passes like they have lately, I won't predict a Gopher Conf Title or anything, but keeping it within 7-10 points is well within reason.

AK's ability to run with the ball will force either Mich or Ohio St to dedicate a defender to keeping an eye on him. This will open up the field for Mo to run or AK to throw and maybe our WRs will learn how to catch the ball between now and then? lol I'm sure Kirk is holding back some of his best stuff for either the Wisc or Iowa games, or if they are not needed to win those games, for the Conf Title game/or whatever bowl game they get into. And it won't be the Cat Box bowl, either.

But if we beat both of them, one of them has to lose to the other, so we'd finish 9-3, best they can do is 7-5/6-6 if they both beat Nebraska and I don't see either of them getting a better bowl than Minnesota. So OSU/Mich will be cfp and Rose Bowl, PSU will get the #2 conf bowl tie in, and for UMn to win the West, Illinois would have to lose 2 more games, so no way they'd get taken over UMn no matter how badly they lost in the CCG. UMn would finish 5-1 with Illinois finishing up 1-3 with losses to MSU and Purdue(or NW) not impressing anyone.

Dude, the amount of money at stake? Don't be naive. Of course the B1G refs are going to call the game favorably for whichever Eastern team gets into the CCG. I honestly don't even care, they probably should, tbh. I don't expect B1G refs to have a sense of honor or religious principles like I have, they are most likely worldly people just like most everyone else out there, working in the high dollar world of Div 1/B1G Conf cfb. It's the way of the world now, hell now with NIL and the transfer portal, cfb is becoming more and more like pro football.

So if Minnesota wants B1G refs to call a game like that straight up, they need to avoid losing to the likes of Purdue and Illinois. If we were undefeated going into the PSU game, the refs probably would have called it straight up, figuring an undefeated Minnesota team going into the CCG would render the B1G at least as much benefit that a 10-2 PSU will gain the conf, IF UMn could beat PSU. I doubt the refs would call it favorably for Minnesota. They won't do that until Minnesota wins consistently enough to warrant being granted favored status and I'm ok with that. But I'm still going to call it out when I see it.

If the B1G can somehow get 2 into the cfp, or at least one of OSU/Mich in the cfp and the other in the Rose Bowl, that's more cfp/bowl game money for everyone in the B1G(probably including a small bonus for the refs, off the books of course, lol), and better TV ratings, too.

That's just the reality of the situation. Until Minnesota can do what's needed to change their "tier 2 status", it's just a reality that has to be lived with.

If I was in charge, I would do the right thing, the principled thing, but I'm not in charge and in this world, as corrupt as it is, and as focused on the almighty dollar as it is, I find it hard to condemn the B1G for looking out for it's own best interests. Won't repeat my initial response at this time, but just curious, do you think WSU has been a relevant football program in your lifetime??? Or dominant any sport program in any sport, whatsoever?

I mean, even Cincy can claim to be a 5 time Natl Champ in Dance and Iowa has it's wrestling, and WVU has it's rifle team or something like that and Nebraska has or had a kick ass bowling team I believe, on top of their pretty decent football dynasty they had going for a while there.

So anything WSU can boast about, any sport, any sport at all? Maybe Basket weaving maybe? Water Polo? Synchronized Swimming maybe?
