Game Thread: Miami Heat Game Thread for games December 23- January 4th

Minus the unnecessary devastating collapse against the sixers, the Heat have shown some signs of fight and life. And, we are in the Eastern Conference. So, we have a shot. We have games vs Memphis, Orlando, and Indy before turning to 2015. We have as good a chance at going 2-1 in those 3 games as we do to go 1-2.

The truth about where the Heat will be at seasons end may be determined by January - A lot of challenging games in that month.

For those who missed it: Sun Sentinel confirms Heat received $2.6M disabled-player cap exception for Josh McRoberts. Good until March 10.

As I just stated, we have a tough month of January coming up - so, finding someone to add to the roster now would be the best thing to do - But, I sense the Heat will probably wait until close to that March 10 deadline to use the exception. Lets hope they do it sooner.

this team is really screwed if Bosh doesn't come back soon. Schedule gets tough in a few days so we need to win these next 3.

The team doesn't push the players hard enough to come back for injuries. They let them take their sweet time back not realizing the situation. No way should Bosh miss 2+ weeks with a minor calf injury.

They have key players out and just played an overtime game at home in which they lost. We should be fresher and are at home. This is arguably a winnable game against a good team that has lost four straight, but honestly we could the cure that ails them....

This team is too inconsistent though. The only reason I have hope is that they seem to play good against the good teams and bad against the bad teams since Bosh been out....The reason I don't have hope is that this team has yet to play well in 2 straight games without Bosh

The thing is without bosh almost everything must go perfect in order to win. The list includes the following:

-Wade must score around 25 or more.
- Deng must be around 17 plus points.
- Gotta have 2 role players in or close to double figures.
- Ball/player movement can never stop so the ball must never stick.
- Gotta play good defense.

If one of those things go wrong without bosh, it usually means we will lose no matter the opponent

You forgot he has to be efficient. I know you like to be on his cock, especially when he scores a lot and give him a pass when he does even when we lose - But, quite often even when he scores over that amount we often lose and if you look at the box score, his field goal percent, FT percentage isnt usually that great - Not to mention thats often when he unnecessarily attempts and misses 3’s

So, efficiency with him is more important than anything. If he is out there taking bad shots, its going to be a bad night for him and the team as a whole

Thats what happens when you have a guy like Wade who too often acts like a diva and sits out so many games for no reason.

He was supposedly playing “coach” at practice today - I dont think there is a worst example of a coach on the team right now. You always hear how leading by example is important - If that is the case, a guy that often sits out games for no reason, complains about fouls on every play, and doesnt get back on defense because of it - is the worst example possible of a player leading by example and the worst possible guy you could give the title of “coach” to in practice. It is no wonder our guys are often lackadaisical - If thats the guy you have leading you - it wont always give you the best results.

Some said Zo-bo would not play for Memphis tonight - if that is the case, as the Heat did in the last game - they need to live and die from inside. If that happens, they win.

Down 9 already. Too many turnovers and jumpers already. Oh, and to the critics of Spo and our defense - I know your intellligence is not your strength, but consider this - maybe its not bad defense as much as it is better execution by the other team and them dictating what happens. Which means the problem isnt schematic as much as it is mental - the guys have to keep their heads on their assignment and execute appropriately.

If there was an award given for playing hard - Deng would runaway with it. THe consistent effort on both ends is really great to see.
