Basically, it comes down to what a lot of these things seem to come down to...

What did he know and when did he know it?

If he knew about the 2015 incident in 2015 and didn't do anything about it until 2018 (which looks to be the case), then he has been covering it up for 3 years. If that's the case, he should be fired and if it turns out that administrators knew about it in 2015...they should be fired too.

However, if he didn't know about the 2015 incident until 2018 and fired Smith, then he handled it properly and should keep his job.

He says he reported it in 2015 . He doesnt elaborate how and the paperwork hasn't been shown so right now he and the AD are in CYA mode. But that does mean for the past three years he knew and kept the guy.

Smith was fired July 23rd 2018 for something he did in 2015 after word got to them that someones been asking questions. So for three years Urban knew he had a guy on staff who most likely was abusing his wife. Urban still thinking he could make it could go away lied on media day saying he didn't know anything about it. Unless someone not related to the media orthe Other party confirmed it. Anyone could text the same message to someone else and label the contact Zach. McMurphys screen shot also does t have the iPhone time stamps open. So you can’t confirmdate time...Withpuy a large sample size of the conversation it leaves a lot up for interpretation. And we don’t know there weren’t deleted texts in that screenshot. Which can completely change context.seems odd to release and taint something that should be used in an investigation/court. McMurphy is a reporter not an investigator. So you kinda have to question his motives and integritywjenMeyers is a big payday story for him.

Again. They fired the guy. Are you saying he didn't do anything? They fired him and they cite the 2015 incident. But its 2018 . Did they wait for court? Did they speculate? No they know what happened. Thats why they fired the guy.
Meyer flat out lied to three different sets of reporters saying he'd never heard of this . Then we find out about the 2009 incidents. Then everyone says all this crazy shit that this couple was doing. And Urban still had the guy on staff.

Nope I already said I think Smith is guilty of DV. That he deserved to be fired and deserves whatever other punishment comes his way. But we aren’t talking about Smith we are talking about Urban Meyer. Even tho the Smiths should be the focal point in this story.What I’m saying is I agree with the OP that the media is a de heroes weapon in today’s society. Especially social media. Where far too many people take what they see on twitter as fact and it spirals fast. I get it’s easy to question Meyers. And it’s easy to let ones hate for Meyers and it Ohio State or UF effect ones opinion. But you also have to remember McMurohy is a “reporter” using Twitter as an outlet. His motive is biggest possible “story/payday”.

I guess I’m not totally sure what you’re getting at. Do we know the exact details? No. Do we know that multiple violent incidents occurred? Yes. Do we know Meyer had knowledge of at least a couple of them? Yes. Did Meyer retain him? Yes. Was the incident legitimately addressed in any way? Details to come, but it doesn’t look good at the moment.

I’ll withhold judgement until the details come out, but I’m just saying it’s not looking good at the moment. If it turns out the way things are looking now, my original post still stands.

You know more than I do then.

I’m only aware of one violent incident in 2009, and I’m not aware of any of the details.

I guess you dont get it??? Allegedly Zach was...he had proof at the time and that isnt his fucking job. The AD actually told the police, he was not charged and no proof to charge him. With her past, first off his last thought was getting tangled in this crazy marriage and secondly how did he know she wasnt just trying to get him fired or other motives. It isnt his call to fire someone for allegedly doing something. What we do know is he was fired when got his warning and more proof came out. Blaming a boss for an employees involvement for DV is crazy and sickening. Poor Courtney but lets stop assuming. Urban lied to the media as of right now...man if that’s te worst of it wow

That would be incorrect the text has to be formatted with the number up top. To corroborate it’s the correct person in question. McMurohy used the texts to get readers attention. Urban hasn’t confirmed anything other than he reported anything he knew. How much was McMurphy paid for the “exclusive interview”? Like I said McMurphy is a twitter reporter. Based on the nature of twitter and McMurphy wanting to get paid. I wouldn’t assume anything regarding Meyers to be true. Without the information investigation that’s being conducted now. Through the proper channels.

Meyer knew Smith broke a court order. That doesn’t mean he knew Smith was beating his wife.

In fact, I’m not certain there were any physical altercations beyond the 2009 incident.

I think he’s missing the key word Allegedly. Which apppears multiple times. In the Twitter based articles being taken as fact That price tag on a “story” takes a significant jump when it’s about Meyers tho. Hope McMurphy is held accountable if the investigation shows Meyers went through the proper channels. We’re in an age where internet reporters need some guidelines.
