i thought i read that when it first went down. so why so many calling him out for taking the free money and getting away from an organization that didnt want to listen to him on draft day?

If I am an owner not sure I want a guy that can't get along with GM decisions. He was a lock for the Jets and that didn't happen and he got passed over after an interview with the 49ers.

Yeah, Jax weather vs. Buffalo's, for basically the same amount of money and less of the overall headaches.

I think he will be fine. Got paid $4m to move to a much warmer climate and not have near as much pressure on him. Jacksonville can't get much worse, so any improvements they make will only look good.

Seemed like a shoe-in for the Jets gig. I still don't know what happened there. When he first resigned, I assumed it was because Woody Johnson or somebody had reached out to him and said they wanted him in the Meadowlands. That turned out to be wild fantasy speculation

Yep...I even thought it was an insider trading thing going on and he was a lock for the Jets job, but maybe the Jets were threatened with tampering and quietly backed out and Marone was hung out to dry.

If Jax turns it around...he might get another HC job, but apparently he was the least of the interviews here in ATL.

Marrone led Buffalo to a 9-7 record this season, but clashed with the front office, especially about the team's quarterback situation. His in-game coaching decisions and conservative approach came under scrutiny. The Jets are known to have "strong interest" in Marrone to replace Rex Ryan, while Chargers OC Frank Reich is expected to be among Buffalo's top head-coaching candidates. Despite the opt-out, Marrone will collect $4 million from the Bills in 2015, in addition to whatever salary his new team gives him.

....as I understood = the new owners of the bills were "shocked and disappointed" that Marrone abandoned ship ,.....what will happen to all those coach's and assistants that counted on employment there for at least another 2-yrs.,..?,.....in my opinion he only cared about HIM,.......so fuck HIM....!,.......ps,......let's see if the dumbass recoups that $8-mill. He was guaranteed in 2015/2016 from buff..,.......I bet he'll make at most $6-mill. Total in the next two years,.....I'm being generous that he'll make $1-mill./yr. as a line-coach in 2015/2016 plus his $4-mill. Golden parachute.
