Mariota and Winston to Throw at Combine

Both Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston will throw at the Combine on Saturday.

Mistake or not.

I think it's a good move on Mariota's part. I think Winston's measurables regarding his arm are more widely accepted as being top shelf.

Hell, even if they both suck to high heaven, a Teddy-esque drop would do them a lot of good. Teams picking in the bottom 16 are usually there for a good reason.

Have to agree. It surprised me more that Winston was going to throw than Mariota. And, I do think that it would help both guys if they fell a bit.

If they want to be happy about getting nabbed by the Browns (or other like team) instead of a playoff team..good luck to them. I agree they are better off getting picked at the bottom of the round.

Who knows? IF Johnny gets out of rehab in time and if they keep Hoyer won't be as much Browns excitement. Hoyer would be smart to look for an exit strategy.

If I was a "top prospect" I wouldn't throw at the combine. It makes too much sense to just do it at your pro day.

They would have to look just terrible to fall...imo Winston basically needs to clean up his act, and conduct solid interviews and the Bucs are going to take him. Mariota stands to gain more from a good workout, but he need not worry too much about his 40 time...a great passing combine could entice the TN FO go against the coaches and take him.

I think that it takes balls for a top QB prospect to throw at the combine. Props to both for that.
