Start looking at teams needing a 1B/DH because I truly believe he is gone. Maybe Boston for 1B if they are looking to start dealing some vets and start over to a point. And he might fit well in Fenway.

Marlins were another place I thought he might fit. They love Latin players and need a 1B.

Phillies and Brewers were two other spots if they both could deal their respective veteran 1B's. Revere for Montero? K-Rod and Parra for Montero and something small?

I'd do Revere for Montero in a heart beat. It's just a matter of what the Phillies think. I actually think that Montero is a really great buy right now, I do believe he could come up to the majors and hit .270 and 20 or so HR.

I would too since he will never pay fr us anyways plus Phils could still stash Montero in AAA until they deal or release Howard. I think it is a win-win.

It all depends on how much the Phillies value Montero. I really do believe he could be a hell of a steal for the team that adds him. He's ready to be back in the majors.

If Montero was not a formerly top prospect and the centerpiece of a trade that sent a young potential ace to the Yankees, and not for his weight, there is no way he would've been sent down. Was Montero good in the majors? No. Was he better than Ackley or Smoak have been? Yeah, in my opinion, significantly better.

At this point, the only reason Montero has not been recalled is because Jack Z has a huge grudge against him. It probably doesn't help that Pineda has pitched well since being traded to the Yankees.

Montero has hit well in AAA, lost weight and is now in the best shape of his life and learned a new position. Not sure what else he can do.

Watch it, Smoak is hitting .274/5 HR's/20 RBI's. He is on fire!!!!!

That's actually pretty surprising.

Or it shouldn't be. Seattle is where hitters come to die. Just you wait, Cruz will not hit another HR and finish the season below .250.
