He honestly doesn't interest me... he is sort of a hot head and his numbers are way down. To his credit though, he is playing at Petco but I'm not sure how much a boost he really gives.

way off topic, but good to see you RangerDude....

and...back to the game.

You couldn't possibly be any more wrong calling him a hothead. The guy is the picture of a consummate professional and teammate. Criticize his production all you want, but a hothead he is not.

My statement is purely based purely on his history with Grienke... so I could be wrong on that statement.. after all Grienke does a lot more history with anger issues than most players.

What are you guys hearing about the Rangers going after Carlos Quentin? He was a game-time scratch with a "tweaked knee" and Padres fans are speculating that there are serious talks to move him, which I seriously doubt because the Padres would be broadcasting such a fact for leverage. You hearing anything?

"Reports" are that JD says the Garza deal is the move and not to expect anything else. Course that leaves the door open for another acquisition late by making it look like they aren't moving again.

I think TEX doesn't do anything though until they see what MLB does potentially tomorrow on the "Biogenesis Bunch". If Cruz is tagged ... then most likely TEX does not make a move because they would have a new hole to fill. That will be too much to fix with not much of a guarantee it is worth it.

Quentin might be an interesting fit since TEX will need a RH COF acquisition in the offseason anyway and Quentin is signed through 2015 with a 2016 option.

I think that's a Huge upgrade over Murphy lol

True. Probably in the same way rios might be in upgrade. You could certainly do worse. I didn't realize he was getting on base at a .365 clip.

We are really having an answer on that stuff tomorrow?

That was an incredible win tonite. First win of the season when trailing after 8 innings. Hope this helps jumpstart the offense and we can get another one tomorrow.

Another factor is that Quentin is a local SD boy and not likely to waive the no-trade clause. word from upstairs is that they're not even asking him to waive it.

The Padres' season will be a success if we can play spoiler in the division and Quentin will be a big part of whether we do that or not.

So based on what you guys are saying, I guess this is a non-story.

Too bad. We could use him.

Soto has been putting some good at bats together. Ride him while he's hot!

That would be something....DH AJ and use Soto more

Sadly, as a BIG Soto fan...I really doubt he could be consistent
but hey, who knows

Wonder what the padres want for him.

I'm sure they'd love to move the contract and get pitching prospects; nothing out of the ordinary.

News is MLB will act on A Rod tomorrow. If they don't act on players who are active right now bet is that MLB will wait until the end of the season since no team that is affected will have much chance to fix any holes created by a suspension. They could act though ... and the smart thing is to wait.

Not only might Cruz be affected other teams may be too and that could change the entire dynamics of moves that would need to happen by Wednesday afternoon.

The ARod move though will be the first indication of what MLB intends to do and that might happen tomorrow.
