19. Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
Queen flies all over the field for LSU but certainly has his strength: coverage. He’ll be needed to patrol the middle of the field in the National Championship, something he’s done very well this year, as he’s allowed just 165 total yards on 355 coverage snaps and no catch longer than 20 yards.

22. Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU
Considered by PFF to be the best tackler in college football, Phillips has missed only three of his 88 tackle attempts this year. He’s put forth ridiculous tackle numbers but has been sure when he makes those attempts. He’s been strong against the run and even chipped in with nine pressures as a blitzer.

2. LB/S Isaiah Simmons, Clemson
Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons is perhaps the most versatile defensive player in this draft class. Whether he's playing on the line, in the box, in the slot or at free safety, he sees success. Simmons impressed in his 2017 redshirt freshman campaign but went from good to great in the year following when he was given the full-time starting duties at weakside linebacker, paving the way for him to produce an elite coverage grade.

As said, Simmons has played all over the place this year, seeing 100-plus snaps at every alignment group besides outside corner. He has proved he’s capable of doing this by producing run-defense, pass-rush and coverage grades all above 80.0. In coverage, the most important facet for his position(s), Simmons’ most yards allowed in a single game in 2019 came against one of the best offenses in the FBS in Oklahoma — and even then, he allowed just 40 yards while picking off a pass. He won’t be playing in the same hybrid manner he is now at the NFL level and will likely be a sole linebacker. No matter what, though, he is still a top-10 draft candidate.

6. CB A.J. Terrell, Clemson
Cornerback A.J. Terrell took a big step forward this past season, working his way to a likely second-round pick. In coverage this year, Terrell has yet to allow more than 60 yards in a single game and has been one of the stingiest outside corners in college football. Among players with at least 300 coverage snaps at that alignment, Terrell has allowed the fewest number of catches (14) and the eighth-lowest passer rating (49.1). The red flag with Terrell thus far has been his inability to win on a consistent basis in contested situations, but as said, he has shown he is worthy to be taken at least in round two.

9. EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU
K’Lavon Chaisson hasn’t been on the field a whole lot in his three years at LSU, but he’s shown promise in his meager playing time. He’s by no means a lock to declare for the 2020 draft, but if he does, he’d be one of the more athletic players in the class. Over the last three weeks, Chaisson has improved upon his pass-rushing by producing 15 total pressures, with eight being a sack or hit.

LB/S Isaiah Simmons, Clemson

Burrow is the top draft-eligible prospect playing in Monday's game — Lawrence and perhaps talented LSU freshman cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. are better overall — but Simmons is another top-10 pick who could interest the Lions whether they stay at No. 3 or trade down. He's long and rangy, and he's the type of hybrid player who's perfect for today's NFL. Simmons can rush the passer, cover tight ends and shut down the run game. He's a unicorn, and he'll line up all over the field.

CB A.J. Terrell, Clemson

Terrell doesn't get he same hype as LSU's cornerback duo, but he's a fine player in his own right. The junior earned all-ACC honors this season as quarterbacks mostly avoided throwing in his direction. He's listed at 6 feet 1 and 190 pounds, and he shined on the big stage last year with a pick-six in the national championship game. It looks to be a good cornerback class this year, but if he declares he could go in the first round.

OLB K'Lavon Chaisson, LSU
Chaisson joined Delpit as the only Tigers to make first-team all-SEC on defense, and he should join his teammate as an early-round draft pick if he leaves school early. Chaisson missed most of the 2018 season because of a torn ACL, so medicals will dictate his draft stock. But he leads the Tigers with 6.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss, and has enough length and size that the Lions could look at him as an eventual replacement for Devon Kennard. Chaisson has a tough matchup Monday against Clemson left tackle Jackson Carman, a potential first-round pick in 2021.

DT Rashard Lawrence, LSU
I could have put Edwards-Helaire on this list, but the Lions are once again in need of help on their defensive line — and perhaps lots of it, if Damon Harrison retires — so I wanted to mention Lawrence. He considered turning pro a season ago, when he was defensive MVP of the Tigers' Fiesta Bowl win over UCF, but returned for his senior season and earned second-team all-SEC honors. He's probably a mid-round pick, but that's where the Lions found Da'Shawn Hand and Austin Bryant.

Lawrence could be in the radar during day 3. He struggles to disengage from blocks and isn't adept laterally on LOS and needs work on coming out of stance too upright, hand placement and usage, needs more pass rush counters.

3. Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
The Butkus Award winner as top linebacker could (should) have won the Hornung Award for the most versatile player, as Simmons plays all over the field. He’s the new-age prototypical NFL linebacker as he can drop and cover like a safety just as well as he can take a three-point stance and rush the passer like an edge rusher. He’s as talented as they come on defense in this game and should once again prove to be incredibly valuable for Clemson’s coverage prowess against the best quarterback they’ve seen.

This guy could probably shut down any TE in the league. Would love to use that second first round pick on him (assuming we get it from MIA). Nice little present for our DC.

This guy was great last night.... Think he will be around in the 3rd round?
I don't want to spend a top 2 pick on an off the ball linebacker after the J. Davis debacle.

Should be as we're early 3rd round at #67. Last night was more outlier than previous play during the season. He was more swiss army knife during season as a Mike, Jack, Leo, Viper depending on personnel alignment.

Dolphins Must Find The Right Price If They Plan To Trade For Tua Tagovailoa

BB_72: my thoughts are that they bypass Tua and trade with Washington for Herbert. Cold, windy, snowy stadiums of Bills, Jets and Pats as road games in the winter on the regular division may discount Tua.

Chargers trade with Detroit for Tua. Tua would still have Den and KC here for similar scenario like above.

IDK.

13. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
We didn’t get to see the full effect he has on his offense because the LSU passing attack just couldn’t be stopped against Oklahoma, but when the going gets tough for the Tigers, Edwards-Helaire has served as a terrific safety net for Burrow. Helaire’s biggest impact has come in big moments, and most importantly, he's been lethal down the stretch, as he closed out the regular season with 12 broken tackles through the air this year and 38 receptions over his final six games. His impact will certainly be felt if the Clemson secondary can stick with the talented guys outside.

BB_72: His play style and physical traits remind me of Ray Rice.

  • Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) will reportedly throw for NFL teams before the 2020 NFL Draft.
Tagovailoa is on track to be "healthy" by April and is planning on participating in a 40-minute throwing session for NFL teams. If things go as planned, Tua will throw between 60-80 passes during that time. The Alabama stud has the potential to be drafted inside the top-three picks but needs to prove that his dislocated hip can hold up in the NFL. Team doctors will obviously play a major role in Tagovailoa's draft process. On the field, Tua is one of the most accurate and accomplished passers to enter the draft in recent memory.

If he throws and looks good. He should be almost a lock to go top 2.
If I was the Redskins. I wouldn't pass on him.
Haskins is like a poor man's version of Jameis Winston.
