Craig Mish of SportsGrid reports that the Blue Jays are set to acquire outfielder Corey Dickerson from the Marlins.

Per multiple reports, reliever Adam Cimber and cash will also go the Jays while the Marlins will pick up infielder Joe Panik and a prospect pitcher. Cimber might be the true target of the deal for Toronto. Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports that the prospect involved is right-hander Andrew McInvale. Dickerson is hurt right now, as he went down with a left foot contusion in the middle of the month and was recently in a walking

yankees are saved WS or bust :suds:

Yankees acquired OF Tim Locastro from the Diamondbacks for RHP Keegan Curtis.

Lindsey Adler of The Athletic was first to report the news. Locastro has batted just .178/.271/.220 in 55 games (133 plate appearances) this season, but he is one of the fastest players in the majors and can cover all three outfield spots. It's a nice addition to the bench in the Bronx and a much-needed dose of athleticism for the Yankees' roster. Curtis, 25, was a 22nd-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft out of the University of Louisiana-Monroe

All the Cubbies sale possibilities & no mention of Arrieta. By anyone. Surely he could provide pitching depth to someone?

I'd want no part of Arrieta. Barely averages more than 4 IP/S and his peripherals are terrible.

He’s been below average lately, but had a decent start to the season. I just think to the playoff scenarios where ‘bullpen games’ come into play. I’d take Jake for those 4 IP in one of those type games…

Braves acquired OF Joc Pederson from the Braves in exchange for 1B Bryce Ball.

Pederson was signed to a one-year deal with the Cubs with an option for 2022 in the offseason, and he's homered 11 times in 73 games while hitting .230/.300/.418 over 256 at-bats. He's going to be the replacement for Ronald Acuña Jr. -- at least against right-handed pitching -- with Acuña out for the remainder of the 2021 season with a torn ACL. The power is nice, but Pederson is going to hurt in the average category and doesn't help with steals, so there's a lot of bitter with the bette

I like the return for the Cubs. Ball could be one of the best pure power hitters in the minor leagues.
This deal likely means that Freeman will stick around for a while longer in Atlanta.

braves going all in :suds:

Braves acquired C Stephen Vogt from the Diamondbacks in exchange for INF Mason Berne.

Vogt, 36, has appeared in 52 games for the Diamondbacks, and he's hit just .212/.307/.386 with five homers over 151 plate appearances. He'll likely get some playing time against right-handed pitching and appear off the bench while he's with Atlanta. There's no real improvement here in terms of fantasy profile.

2 Good power lefties in Pederson and Vogt. I have no doubt they will hit some bombs at CBP against the Phillies. Good thing Arrieta is not part of the rotation any more.

Rays send the ageless Rich Hill to the Mets.

I wasn't aware the Rays had pitching to spare.

nice get

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Padres have agreed to a deal to acquire Adam Frazier from the Pirates.

It's unclear at this stage what the Pirates will be getting in return for the All-Star second baseman. Frazier was pulled from Sunday's game against the Giants in the eighth inning and was seen packing up his stuff, presumably after he had been informed of the deal. It's unclear exactly how he'll fit in on the Padres roster, as Jake Cronenworth has functioned as their primary second baseman this season, though both are versatile and can move all over the diamond. Stay tuned for more details.

Yankees acquired RHP Clay Holmes from the Pirates for INFs Diego Castillo and Hoy Park.

Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported news of the trade and it's now been made official. Holmes has struck out 44 over 42 innings for Pittsburgh this season, although he's also walked 25 and posted a 4.93 ERA. The Yankees are unlikely to use him in high-leverage spots.

Athletics acquired LHP Andrew Chafin from the Cubs for OF Greg Deichmann and RHP Daniel Palencia.

The deal was reported earlier Monday and has now been made official after all parties involved passed physicals. Chafin has put up a 2.06 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 37/12 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings this season and should give the A's bullpen a nice boost.

Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette confirms that the Pirates have traded starter Tyler Anderson to the Phillies.

Pittsburgh will receive right-hander Cristian Hernandez and catcher Abrahan Gutierrez in return, per Mackey. Robert Murray of FanSided was first to report that a deal was close and now Anderson will officially change teams instead of making his scheduled start for Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. He heads to Philly having registered a 4.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 86/25 K/BB ratio across his first 103 1/3 innings (18 starts) this season.

Mariners acquired INF Abraham Toro and RHP Joe Smith from the Astros for RHP Kendall Graveman and RHP Rafael Montero.

Toro is the big get for Seattle in this somewhat controversial swap. He has mostly struggled in his time at the MLB level, but the 24-year-old does have impressive numbers in the upper minors and might be the third baseman of the future for the Mariners. Unless, of course, hyper-active general manager Jerry Dipoto looks to flip him in a subsequent trade.
